673 Austin, Texas December 25, 1913: Regular meeting of the City Council: Present Mayor Wooldridge & the Clerk. The Mayor declared the Council recessed until 100' clock A m Friday Dec 26th 1913.
Friday Dec 26th 1913, the Council was called to order by the Mayor : Roll called: Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell Absent none.
Grace fund Sewer Joseph ✓ Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That a temporary transfer of ten thousand ( $ 10,000.00 ) dollars,from the Sanitary Sewer fundbe and is hereby made to the Sanitary Sewer Earn ings fund ,for the purpose of paying the ten thousand ( $ 10,000.00) dollars installment to become due and owing by the City of Austin, Texas, to the Austin Sewerage Co on January 1st 1914. This transfer is made with the express understanding that the ten thousand (10,000.00) dollars so temporarily transferred from the Sanitary Sewer fund to the Sanitary Sewer Earnings fund for the purpose hereinabove stated , shall be refunded and transferred back from the Sanitary Sewer Earninds fund to the Sanitary Sewer fund on or before July 1st1914. Paving west 6th st to be paid for ✓ Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : A resolution finaly accepting pavement and improvement of West 6th street from Harthan street on north side and Walsh street on south,xxxxxx to and across West Lynn street. Whereas, the Supt of Streets and Publie Improvements has filed his report with the City Council to the effect that the Texas Bitulithic Co has completed the work of paving and improving of West 6th street from Harthan street on north side and Walsh street on south to and across West Lynn street ,under contract with the City and that said work has been fully done in strict accordance with said contract and specifications adopted by the City; Therefore, Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That the said work of improvement be finally accepted by the City and that the final estimate due by the City to the said Company be paid. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : J.W. Moore & Son & Johnson & Co bids for Sewer work ✓ Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Councilman Powell presented bids from J W Moore & Sons and Johnson and Carr , for Sewer work ,as per advertisement ,whic were read and referred to the City Engineer ,for calculation and report.

December 30th 1913. The.Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present: The minutes December 13th and subsequent recessed meetings were read and adopted. Councilman Haynes presented bids for supplies for the City for the term ending June 30th 1914, which were read and referred to the proper heads of Deprts for examination and recommendation. Bids for sewers on upper East Ave, approved & awarded to Johnson & Carr. ✓ Councilman Powell presented the following resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: Whereas, the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas, did on December 26th 1913, receive and open bids for the construction of the Upper East Avenue Sewer Main beginning at 10th and Sabine streets, and ending at 19th street and East Avenue ; and, Whereas, the bid of Johnson and Carr,for furnishing all material other than the pipe and all labor for the construction of this line for the sum of $ 2,659.45,was found to be the lowest and bid therefor,Now Therefore, Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the contract for the construction of the said sewer main be and is hereby awarded to the said firm of Johnson & Carr. Councilman Powell offered the following resolution: Bids for storm sewer on Blanco St approved ✓ Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the Supt of Streets and Public Improvements be and is hereby authorized to advertise for bids to construct a reinforced concrete storm sewer on Blanco street from the north side of 6th street east of Blanco street di-gon-ally across private property to Blanco street at its intersection with the alley north of 6th street and north of Blanco street to and around the corner of 8th street at the west side of Blanco street. The Resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. appro for storm sewer on Blanco St ✓ Councilman Powell offered the following resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the sum of twenty three hundred ($ 2,300.00) dollars be and is hereby appropriated out of the Permanent Street Improvement fund for the purpose of constructing a reinforced concrete storm sewer on Blanco street from the north, side of 6th street east of Blanco street diagonally across private property to Blanco street at its intersection with the alley north of 6th street and north on Blanco street to and around the corner of 8th street at the west side of Blanco street.

Councilman Powell offered the following resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the sum of three hundred eighty seven & 12/11 ( $ 387.12) dollars be and is hereby transferred from the Sanitary Sewer fund to the Permanent Street Improvement fund to cover pay roll of L H Bowles et al, for the week ending December 31st 1913, erroneously paid out of the Permanent Street Improvement fund. Councilman Powell offered the following resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the City Treasurer and the Book-keeper for the Street Dept, be and they are hereby authorized and directed to transfer from the Permanent Street fund, to the Street Improvement fund the sum of $ 332.42, amount of pay rolls erroneously drawn from the Street Improvement fund, and which should have been drawn from the permanent Street fund. Purchase of sewer Ejectors authorized
That F W Powell, Supt Streets and Public Improvements, be and is hereby authorized to purchase from the Shone Co, Chicago Ill, a pair of 200 gallon sewage ejectors together with valves and fittings for the South Austin lift station. These ejectors are to be similar to the ones installed in the West Austin lift station at 4th & Rio Grande streets, and to cost eighteen hundred & seventy five ( $ 1,875.00) dollars, F O B , Austin, Texas. Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the Sexton at Oakwood Cemetery be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to inter the bodies of White Paupers in a strip 160 feet long by a varying width of from about 5 feet to 3 feet in the north east corner of present Oakwood Cemetery. Said strip parallels19th street on the north and constituting the border of the cemetery in the section of the same described above.
