702 Regular meeting of the City Council : Austin, Texas, Feby 12th 1914. Roll called : Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes and Powell 5 Absent none. The minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read and approved. Reports of City Officers: The Mayor laid before the Council the reports of the Sexton & the Inspector of Weights and Measures for January , 1914 and that of the Supt of Streets ,Sanitary J. L. Jussas Sewer fund for the month of Dec 1913, which were read and ordered filed. #ith Oreh Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : ✓ Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the City Treasurer be instructed to transfer the sum of three hundred fourteen and 42/100,($ 314.42) dollars ,from the permanent Street Improvement fund to the General street fund to reimburse said fund for the amount which was erro-neously drawn by No 36811, 36890, 37020 to 37032 ,37033 to 37036, and 37037 to to 37056. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. .The Mayor laid before the Council An Ordinance regulating the storage and handling ordinance of Gasoline and other volatiles and inflamable liquids, within the City of Austin, repealing which was read the first time. storing Councilman Haynes presented a bill from the Citizens Bank & Trust Co, for handling of $ 110.24, interest on overdrafts for General fund for the month of January 1914, gasoline which was ordered paid by the following vote: ✓ Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Interest on overdrafts Feby 16th 1914: ordered paid ✓ The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present: The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the sum of five hundred dollars ($ 500.00) ,be and is hereby charged to the General Contingent fund of the City of Austin for the year 1914, and appropriated # of funds of to the purposes of Public Health. contingent fund The resolution was adopted by the following vote : appro. to public Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 health Nays none. ✓ Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : A resolution finally accepting pavement and improvement of the south side of 19th Paving work accepted street from Lavaca street to Guadalupe street north ,and on the entire width of ordered paid 19th street from Guadalupe street north to Rio Grande street.. ✓ --- Page break --- .Whereas, the Supt of Streets and Public Improvements has filed his report with the City Council to the effect that the Texas Bitulithic Company has completed the work of paving and improving the south side of 19th street from Lavaca street to Guadalupe street north, and on the entire width of 19th street from Gaudalupe street north to Rio Grande street under contract with the City that said work has been fully done in strict accordance with said contract and specifications adopted by the City , Therefore ; Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas: That the said work of improving be finally accepted by the City and that the final esti-mate due by the City to the said Company be paid. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. February 16th 1914. The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present: The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Whereas, it appears from the attached statement of Messrs Hill & Long, Special Tax Collectors for the City of Austin ,Teas, that C W Rowe was assessed as having two thousand dollars ($ 2,000.00) in money on January 1st 1913, whereas it was two thousand dollars in notes. Now, Therefore,Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the assessment of two thousand dollars ($ 2,000.00) in money against the said C W Rowe for the year 1913, be and the same is cancelled and annulled . The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Asses C.W. Rowe Cancelled Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor, The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Whereas, it appears from the attached statement made by Messrs Hill & Long, special tax collectors for the City of Austin,Texas, that Jud S James ,against whom credits in the amount of four hundred and eighty dollars ($ 480.00) were assessed for the year 1912, was owing to interest bearing obligations in excess of that sum . Now, therefore, Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the assessment of four hundred and eighty dollars ($480.00) of credits against the said Jud S James for the year 1912, be and the same is cancelled and annulled. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew,Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Asses Jud S James Cancelled Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. .The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Whereas, it appears from the statement of Messrs Hill & Long, special tax collectors for the City of Austin ,Texas, that C W Rowe was assessed as having two thousand ($2,000.00) dollars in money on January 1st 1913, Whereas, it was two thousand idollars in notes. Now ,therefore, Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : Asses C.W. Rowe Corrected --- Page break --- 704 That the assessment of two thousand ($ 2,000.00) dollars in money against the said C W Rowe for the year 1913, be and the same is cancelled and annulled , and an assessment of two thousand dollars for credits is hereby substituted for the assessment of two thousand dollars in money. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. The Council then adjourned. J.
