Saturday March 28, 1914. The council was called to order by the Mayor with all councilmen present: Councilman Anthony introduced the following resolution: Whereas, J. H. Colley rendered his improvements on Lot No. 4, Block "E" Outlot No. 49, Division "O", Driving Park Addition to the City of Austin, Texas, for the year 1913 at $600.00 when in fact these improvements information of Councilman W.B. Anthony only cost about $400.00. New, Therefore: (illegible) (illegible) Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: (illegible) That said assessment be changed from $600.00 to $400.00 valuation; (illegible) and that the Assessor & Collector be authorized to make said change on the tax (illegible) rolls for the year 1913. (illegible) (illegible) The resolution was adopted by the following vote: ✓ Yeas-Mayor Woolridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 The Council then adjourned:

The following was handed the City Clerk by the Mayor April 2nd, 1914, 9-45 A.M. Austin, Texas, March 26, 1914. The Council was called to order by the Mayor and all Councilmen present: The Mayor introduced the following resolution: curb & sidewalk That the Superintendent of Streets & Public Improvements be and he is hereby on West 22nd St. Authorized and instructed to advertise for bids for the construction of concrete bids asked for sidewalks and curbing upon the South side of West 22nd Street from Rio Grande ✓ Street to Cliff Street and upon the North side of West 22nd Street from Guadalupe Street to Rio Grande Street; said bids to be received and filed with the City Clerk until 10 o'clock A. M. April 25th, 1914. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas-Mayor Woolridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 The Council then adjourned:

735 March 28th 1914: Councilman Powell offered the following resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That whereas, the City of Austin has entered into a contract with Texas Bitulithic Company by the terms of which Texas Bitulithic Company is to pave West 8th street in said City between Congress Avenue and Colorado street ; and Whereas, said Texas Bitulithic company desires to sublet the work of excavating said portion of said street which is necessarily incident to the paving thereof under said contract ; and Jex. Bitulithic Co. Permission to sublet work to improve 8th St. Whereas , it is deemed advisable by the City Council of Austin that the subletting of said portion of said contract should be consented to by the City of Austin provided that subcontractor to whom said excavation work is sublet shall enter into a good and suffi-cient bond satisfactory to said Texas Bitulithic Company , indemnifying the City of Austin and said Company against any and all liability for damages occasioned by his employees and all other persons and property by reason of any negligence in the preformance of said excavation work ;
Now, therefore, it is hereby resolved by the City of Austin that the consent of said City be and is hereby given to the subletting of said portion of said contract on the conditions above expressed.
The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Woolridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none.
