The minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read and adopted: Reports of City Officers: The Mayor laid before the Council the report of the City Marshal, the City Engine and the Supt in charge of the construction of the City Hospital,which were read and ordered filed. Councilman Haynes offered the following resolution : Wheres, improvements on lots 14,15 & 16, Block "O" outlot 39, Division "O", Driving Park Addition to the City of Austin ,were assessed on its unrendered roll for 1913,at $ 6,00.00,when in fact said improvements cost about $ 50.00, Now ,Htrefore, Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That said assessment be changed from $ 6,00.00,to $ 50.00,valuation,and that the Assessor & Collectorbe authorized to make said change on the taxrolls of theCity of Austin for the year 1913. The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas: Johnson Bros Tire & Repair Co gas tank ✓ That Johnson Bros ,Tire & Repair Company ,be and are hereby authorized to place a gasoline tank 3 ½ feet long by 2 ½ feet in diameter under sidewalk in front of 111 West 5th street , the tank to be of standard design for this purpose,including inlet, and to be placed at least eighteen (18) inches under ground,and inlet to be placed not over eighteen (18) inches from the curb line; also to place a standard gasoline pump on the sidewalk in front of above premises, same to be close to the curb; the entire installation to be made under the supervision of the City Engineer; the above permit to be revocable on thirty days notice. Now, therefore, Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That, in consideration of the fact that said credits as reported by said J Gregg Hill constitute a second assessment of the identical securities voluntarily rendered by the said V S Edrington , said second assessment be and the same is hereby cancelled and annulled. Now, therefore, Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the assessment against said Herman Pressler in the amount of one thousand two hundred dollars ($ 1,200.00) on the assessment rolls for 1913, growing out of said transaction hereinabove stated, be and the same is hereby cancelled and annulled. 740 Now, therefore, Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the firm of Beckwith & Son be and are hereby granted the right to install and maintain at 122 West 6th street in this City an electric light sign,of about the following description: Said sign is to be 30 inches by 47 inches .It will be built for the use of four 25 Wattmazda lamps and will have the word " Pool" framed on its side.It will be hung at least 8 feet above the sidewalkand will be in all other respects in con-formity with the ordinances of this City and the regulations of the Water, Light & Power Dept. Be it further resolved : That this permit is granted and is to be accepted as temporary, and is revocable at any time in the pleasure of the City Council . Be it further resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the permit hereby granted is granted ,and must be accepted as temporaryand revocable at any time in the pleasure of the City Council. Now, therefore, Res olved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That said pound fees in the amount of three ($3.00) dollars be, and for the reasons hereinabove stated, are remitted to the said Meyer Minchen. The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present: Councilman Powell offered the following resolution: A resolution designating owners and their property on East 5th street in the City of Austin, Travis County, Texas, between the west curb line of Trinity street to the west curb line of East Avenue who have failed or refused to agree with the City Council as to the special benefits of improvements of said East 5th street and the apportionment of the cost of such improvements to be assessed against each of them and directing the City Attorney to file with the County Judge of Travis County Pro rata of Cost paving & 5th St & name of owners a statement thereof. A resolution declaring and fixing the amount per front foot and the total amount of the cost of improving Congress Avenue in Austin, Texas, from the south curb line of 13th street to the south curb line of 19th street to be paid by each owner of property abutting thereon who has agreed with the City Council concern-ing the same. Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas:
That the hearing to property owners concerning an assessment to be made against them and their property for the improvement of Congress Avenue from the south curb line of 13th street to the south curb line of 19th street having been closed and the said property owners having been fully heard as to said assessment ,the benefits thereof , and all matters connected with the proceedings with reference to said improvements , and the property owners whose names are given below having in writing consented with the City and agreed to the amount of the propor-tion of said cost to be assessed against them respectively and their property.

The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present: Councilman Haynes offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the regular assessment roll of the City of Austin for the year 1913 and yealding an estimated General Revenue tax of $ 215,919. 90 , and an estimated School tax of $ 71,973. 28, and an estimated Interest and Sinking fund of $ 107,959. 97, or a total estimated tax for said year 1913 of $ 395,853. 15, be and the same is hereby approved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas.
And be it further resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: Tax Rolls 1912 approved √ That the special supplimental tax roll of the City of Austin for the year 1913, Yealding as estimated General Revenue tax of $ 4,001.47,an estimated School tax of $ 1,333.82, and an estimated Interest and Sinking fund tax $ 2,000.67, or a total estimated tax on said supplimental roll of 1913, of $ 7,335.96,be and the same is hereby approved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas.
And be it further resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the special supplimental tax roll of 1912 on the 1913 roll and yeilding for General Revenue purposes an estimated tax of $ 1,541.71, and an estimated School tax of $ $571.01, and an estimated Interest and Sinking fund tax of $ 736.59, or a total estimated tax for said special roll of 1912 tax on the 1913 roll of $ 2,849.31, be and the same is hereby approved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas.
