Regular meeting of the City Council: Austin, Texas, Aug. 27th 1914
The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll called: Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Absent none.
The minutes of the last regular and subsequent adjourned meeting were read and adopted:
Councilman Bartholomew offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the sum of four thousand ($ 4,000.00) dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary Appropriation for Conduits & Electric be appropriated out of the Earnings Fund of the Water, Light and Power Department of the Wires in the City of Austin, Texas, to purchase conduit and cable and pay for labor to install the primary alleys in alleys electric wires under ground in the alleys from 7th street to 10th street, between Congress both sides Congress Avenue and Colorado street and between Congress Avenue and Brazos street in this City. Avenue The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none:
The Mayor laid before the Council an account of J W Maxwell for collecting delinquent taxes, amounting to $ 935.76, which was allowed and ordered paid by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none.
The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That fifty ($ 50.00) dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is Appropriation Catch-basin hereby appropriated out of the General Contingent fund of the City of Austin, Texas, for the City Hospital year 1914, to pay for a catch basin at the new City Hospital, and to provide iron pipes across the ditches in front of said new City Hospital to convey the sewerage from the building to the main on East Avenue.
The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none.

The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: Mr. Underwoods That the sum of fifty ($ 50.00) dollars, or so much thereof as may prove to be necessary, Genl. Contingent be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the General Contingent fund of the City to Hospital of Austin, Texas, for the year 1914, and transferred to the Hospital Building fund. Building fund This appropriation is made to pay for a Catch-basin at the new City Hospi-tal and to provide iron pipes across the ditches in front of the new City Hospital to convey the sewerage from the building to the main on East Avenue. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none.

100 .The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the sum of ninehundred and thirty five dollars and seventy six cents , ($ 935.76 ) be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the General Contingent fund of the City of Austin, Texas, for the year 1914, in payment of Commissions to J W Maxwell upon delinquent taxes collected by him from May 8th 1914, to J.W. Maxwell Collecting Taxes August 5th 1914, as per the itemized statement attached hereto, which itemized statement consists of two pages and is marked Exhibits "A" and "B" respectively, and countersigned by A P Wooldridge, Mayor , on August 27th 1914. The total amount of taxes collected is $ 5,308. 94, and commissions upon same , $ 935.76. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor.
Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the Supt of Streets and Public Improvements be and he is hereby instructed Bids for sidewalks to advertise for bids for the construction of curbing and sidewalks on Red River curb & Red street from 15th to 20th streets in this City. River Street Bids are instructed to be filed with the Supt of Streets and Public 15th to 20th Improvements on Sept 8th 1914. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor.
Aug 29th 1914. The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present : The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : Fine Georgia That acting upon the advice of the City Marshal to suspend the enforceBrown -ment of the sentence against defendant Georgia Brown , and deeming the policy Suspended to be a wise one, the City Council hereby resolves that the sentence imposed against Georgia Brown in the case of the State of Texas vs Georgia Brown , cause No 8854, charge, vagrancy, and the fine and costs, amounting to $ 64.80, be suspended from enforcement , conditioned upon the said Georgia Brown promptly leaving this City and continuing to remain away. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. The Council then adjourned.
