197 Regular meeting of the City Council : Austin,Texas, October 08, 1914. The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll called: Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Absent None. The minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read a nd adopted. Reports of City Officers : The Mayor laid before the Council the report of the Assessor & Collector, the Treasurer, the Inspector of Weights and Measures & the Fire Marshal for the month of Sept 1914, which were read and ordered filed: Unfinished business : Moving Van Ordinance passed. The Mayor laid before the Council " An ordinance requiring reports of the moving of household furniture and household goods and effects from any one portion of the City of Austin,Texas , to any other portion of the City of Austin,Texas, and prescribing a penalty for the violation of this ordinance " The ordinance was read the third time and passed by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony & Powell 3 Nays Councilmen Bartholomew & Haynes 2 Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : D B Gracy Granted free Sewerage Whereas, it appears from the attached statement of D B Gracy, that one of the City's sanitary sewer mains runs through Lot No.8,Block No 138, in the City of Austin, Texas, belonging to the said D B Gracy,which sewer main not only serves the premises of Mr D B Gracy,which it crosses ,but serves some seven or eight other familieswest and northwest from Mr Gracy's premises at Lot No 8 ,Block No 138, of the City of Austin,Texas; and Whereas it appears from the attached statement of Mr D B Gracy that he has at no time received any compensation from the City of Austin or any other person ,firm or corpora-tion for the right to use his premises for the passage of the sanitary sewer main that crosses the same ,and which sanitary sewer main is now used by the City of Austin, the present owner of the same , as a part of its sanitary sewer system; and Whereas the right of perpetual use of the said Lot No 8 ,Block No 138, of the City of Austin,Texas, for sanitary sewer purposes is a valuable municipal benefit and advantage,both for the present and.future . Now, therefore, Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That perpetual free sanitary sewer service for the buildings now located or hereafter to be erected upon Lot No 8 Block No 138 of the City of Austin,Texas,is granted to the said D B Gracy ,his heirs and assigns, in consideration of the perpetual right of way for the necessary and and proper sanitary sewer mains of the City of Austin,across said above described premises, with the free and unrestrained right of access to said premise for all purposes connected with the use of said sanitary sewer main. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew,Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none.
