City Funds Park Pier, Cuts Water Rates
Water Rates Reduced:
Approved a significant reduction in the minimum monthly water rate, lowering it from $1 for 5,000 gallons to $0.50 for 2,500 gallons, effective January 1, 1915.Municipal Park Pier Funded:
Allocated $2,500 for the construction of a new pier at the Municipal Park located by the Dam.Key Utility Upgrades:
Approved the purchase of $3,400 worth of underground electrical cables and $1,450 for new grates at the Water & Light Plant.Sewer Debt Servicing:
Authorized a $2,000 transfer to cover upcoming interest payments on the city's $80,000 debt related to the Austin Sewerage Company.

Regular meeting of the City Council : Austin, Texas, December 17, 1914. 175 The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll called: Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Absent none. The minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read & adopted. Reports of City Officers: The Mayor laid before the Council the report of the Supt of Streets and that of the Supt of construction new City Hospital, which were read and ordered filed:
Councilman Bartholomew offered the following resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the bid of the American Steel Wire Association ,presented by D O Conner, for the underground cables to be supplied according to specifications prepared by the City Electrician ,said bid amounting to $ 3,400.00 f o b Austin,less 1% cash in 10days on specified lengths, be accepted. Be it further resolved by the City Council : That the prices, as detailed in the written bid of the above association , shall be used in the purchase of additional cable should same be desired. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor.
Dec 19th 1914: All present except Councilman Haynes : The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin ,Texas: That the sum of two thousand five hundred ( $ 2,500.00) dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the General Contingent fund of the City of Austin,Texas, to pay a partial , approved estimate of that amount made in behalf of A A Mundt, upon his contract to build the pier in front of the Municipal Park at the Dam. xxxxx The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew & Powell 4 Absent Councilman Haynes 1 Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor.
Dec 21st 1914: All present: The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That beginning January 1st 1915, the minimum rate for Water be reduced from one dollar per month for five thousand gallons to fifty cents per month for twenty five hundred gallons. Councilman Bartholomew offered the following resolution:
Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the sum of one thousand four hundred and fifty ($ 1,450.00) dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the Earnings fund of the Water & Light department of the City of Austin, Texas, to pay for the McClave -Brooks grates at the Water & Light Plant.

Transfer funds - Loan Jarosky funds 12 Earnings fund temporary
Councilman Powell offered the following resolution:
Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the sum of $ 2,000.00, out of the Interest and Sinking fund of the City of Austin, Texas, be and the same is hereby transferred as a temporary advance to the Sanitary Sewer Earnings fund of the City of Austin, Texas, to pay interest due on January 1st ,1915, on ,Eighty thousand ($ 80,000.00)dollars of the City of Austin's debt for the purchase of the property of the Austin Sewerage Company as represented at this time by $ 80,000.00 of certificates of debt owing by the City of Austin, Texas.

Smith & Wilcox re-imburse
The Mayor laidbefore the Council the following resolution:
Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the sum of $ 30.85 be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the General Contingent fund of the City of Austin, Texas, to re-imburse to Messrs Smith & Wilcox expenses incurred by them in error an dunder a supposed authorization from the City in the installation of an electric light sign in front of their place of business at 616 Congress Avenue in this City.
