271 Regular meeting of the City Council ; Austin,Texas, February 18, 1915. The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll Called: Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew & Haynes 4 Absent Councilman Powell 1 The minutes of the last regular and subsequent remesses meetings were read and approved: The Mayor laid before the Council the report of the Fire Marshal for the month of January 1915, which was read and ordered filed: Unfinished business : Appropriation of fund for operating & Maintenance $10.000.00 The Mayor laid before the Council a resolution appropriating the sum of Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) dollars ,for the purpose of purchasing Material and incidental expenses contr-noted in and about the operation and maintenance of the Water, Light & Power Plant of this City, which resolution was read the 1st time on the 11th of Feby 1915,and laid over for one week. The resolution was read a second time and passed by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew & Haynes 4 Absent Councilman Powell 1 $10.000.00 The Mayor laid before the Council a resolution appropriating the sum of Ten Thousand to pay for ($ 10,000.00) dollars to pay for overflowed lands caused by the erection of the Dam across Overflowed the Colorado River in Austin,Texas which resolution was introduced and read the 1st time Lands. on the 11th of February 1915, and laid over for one week.The resolution was read the 2nd ti time and passed by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, & Haynes 4 Absent Councilman Powell 1 The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the City Clerk and the City Treasurer,be and they are hereby authorized and directed to transfer from the General fund to the City Park fund the sum of $ 4.15, Transfer funds to correct an error by which a bill for $ 4.15, against the Hospital fund,waserroneously err. fund to paid out of the City Park fund: Pk. fund The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, & Haynes 4 Absent Councilman Powell 1 Councilman Haynes offered the following resolution : Whereas, it appears from an affidavit of W B Hesten attached to a resolution W.B Hesten passed by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas, on Feby 26th 1914, that the improve Assessment -ments on Lots 6 & 7 in Block "A"Outlot 39 Div "O",Driving Park Addition to the City of Corrected Austin,Texas,were in ignorance assessed by his Brothr-in law, J W Freeman, who is a joint owner with the said W B Hesten,of said above described property,at more than twice their actual valueand more than twice their actual cost,which does not, by said affidavit, exceed in value the sum of five hundred ($500.00) dollars and as this Council is informed and believes. Kunze & Wife --- Page break --- 313 Transfer for Charity Funds To Treasurer Board United Charities Contract McDonald Concrete Co. to Pave drive around City Hall P L Meyer Deed to Cemetery Lot --- Page break --- Plumbing Inspection fee City Hospital refunded Donnerly & White Fines Wheeler & Beaty, A Weldeman remitted Fines Harry Gordon remitted --- Page break --- 215 Fine $19.80 refunded remitted That $ 19.80 be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the General Contingent fund of the City of Austin,Texas, as a refund to the said defendant ,Harry Gordon,of the fine and costs paid by him in this cause. And it further appearing that $ 7.50 of the fine and costs imposed in cause No 9114,State of Texas vs Jas Aldridge,have been paid into the Treasury of the City of Austin,Texas. Now, therefore, Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas : That $ 7.50 be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the General Contingen fund of the City of Austin,Texas,as a refund to the defendant ,Jas Aldridge ,as stated above ,that all of the fine and costs in each case ,including cause No 9113,State of Texas vs Robert.C Chapman ,be and the same are hereby remitted to the defendants in these several causes. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. Feby 20th 1915: All present: The Mayor offered the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas : Election Judges & Clerks Section 1. That the following named persons are hereby appointed to be Judges ,Assistant Judges and Clerks ,respectively, at the seven (7) several voting places in the City of Austin,Texas, hereinbelow named : (1) For the first Ward: H J Ketchum,Presiding Judge; Simon Gillis ,Assisting Judge; John Wende ,Assisting Judge; William Jackson, Clerk ; T F Caldwell, Clerk; S D Warner, Clerk ; (2) For the second Ward: C E Anderson Sr , Presiding Judge; W W Harris, Assisting Judge; W A Pillow, Assisting Judge; Horace A Robbins, Clerk ; James Perry, Clerk; Chas N Bustin, Clerk; (3) For the third Ward: Will L Vining, Presiding Judge; W G Bell , Assisting Judge; Harvey Harrall, Assisting Judge; R H Felter, Clerk; H M Little, Clerk; Ed J Hoefling, Clerk --- Page break --- 216 . That said several Judges ,Assistant Judges,abd Clerks asare herb -by appointed to serve as such for the termof two (2) years and until their successors are appointed ,unless sooner removed .
