227 .Regular meeting of the City Council: Austin,Texas, March 18, 1915: The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll called : Present Mayor Wooldridge ,Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Absent none. The minutes of the last regular meeting were read and adopted : The Mayor laid before the Council a petition from Citizens ,asking the Council to extend the Limits of the Chicken ordinance ,which was read and laid over for future consideration : The following resolutions,passed at different dates,were handed the Clerk March 24th 1915 ,and are here recorded . March 11th 1915. Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas: That the sidewalk lines on the north side of East 11th street between the east curb curb line of Brazos street and the west curb line of Trinity street and on both sides of Location Side walks. 11th Trinity & San Jacinto Sts San Jacinto street between the north curb line of 11th street and the south curb line of 12th street be and the same are hereby ordered located in such a position that there will be a space of 18 inches between the outside edge of the cement walk and the inside edge of the curbing .This permit to be temporary and revocable at the pleasure of the City Council The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell: 4 Yeas, Major Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 4 Absent Councilman Anthony 1 March 13th 1915: All present: Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : P Whereas, the property on the north side of 16th street between Neches and Red River streets is 10 feet or more above the street level ,and the owners wish to improve the approaches to, and sidewalks and parking space in front of same ; and Sidewalks Grades & 16th Neches & Red River Sts Whereas, to cut down the sidewalkarea to the standard grade would be very expensive on account of the material being solid rock ,and in addition this would make the property inaccessible ,the height being too great to reach with steps in the space available for the same back of the regular sidewalk line, Therefore, Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the cement sidewalks on 16th street between Neches and Red River streets be placed on the lower level near the curb, the outside edge of sidewalk to be placed ( 26 " )inches from the face line of curb,this location to be regarded as temporary and subject to change to standard construction at such time as the Council may elect. March 15th 1915; All present; The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : C. E. Woodward overflowed Land. That the claim of Clarence Woodward for overflowed lands be and is the same is hereby authorized to be settled by the Supt of Parks and Public property of the City of Austin, Texas, for the sum of $ 650.00. March 16th 1915, All present: The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Whereas, it appears from the attached affidavit of Lee Gildart that he he had no improvements on Lot No 8, Outlot 60/61,Division "O") of the City of Austin, Texas, on the 1st day of January 1914, Lee Gildart Taxes Now, therefore, Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That said assessment against said above described property of Lee Gildart, owner thereof, for the year 1914 in the amount of $ 400.00,be and the same is hereby cancelled and annulled .
