286 .Regular meeting of the City Council; Austin,Texas,April 01, 1915. The Council was called to order by the Mayor; Roll called: Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Absent none The minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meeting were read and approved: Reports of City Officers: The Mayor laid before the Council the following reports, which were read and ordered filed ,viz : The City Marshal & the City Health Officer: The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That whereas, it appears from the attached statement of Fred Sterzing, Assessor & Collector of the City of Austin, Texas, that an error was made in the assessment of certain property belonging to J D Williams for the year 1914 in that the values of seven lotswere placed against two lots belong -ing to the said J D Williams for the year 1914, J.D. Williams assessment error Now Therefore, Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That said error be corrected and the assessment of $ 150.00 a lot ,or $ 300.00 altogether,be assessed against Lot 13 & 14,Block 5 ,Outlot 47 Div "O",City of Austin, Texas, for the year 1914,the same being the property of the said J D Williams; and Be it further resolved: That the previous assessment in error against the said above described property of $ 700.00 be and the same is hereby cancelled and annulled. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. A.E. Hancock cabire electric light fixtures New City Hospital The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the sum of $ 388.00 be and the same is hereby segregated from the amo amount of $ 4,227.50 ,making up the supplimental budget of the City of Aust Texas, for the year 1915 ,by reason of the income of the new City Hospital and applied to the payment of the attached bill of the A E Hancock Co for electric light fixtures supplied to said building. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor --- Page break --- 267 . Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas: That the property owners on the North side of 20th street from Wichita to Lampasas Sidewalking streets be permitted to place their cement sidewalks on the outside of the tree line 20th Street in same line as those in the block west of Wichita street. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge ,Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. Councilman Anthony offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the sum of $ 19.40,out of the miscellaneous fund of the City of Austin,Texas, for the m maintenance of the City Hospital for the year 1915, be and the same is hereby appropriated Bill L N Iredell to the payment of the bill in favor of Leslie N Iredell,Architect, in consulting,approving Services Hospital and superintending the installation of the electric Light fixtures at the City Hospital. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. Councilman Haynes offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the sum of $ 245.78,be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the special funds named below to cover interest on overdrafts in said funds to the Citizens Bank and Trust Interest Co for the month of March 1915; overdrafts Interest on Sanitary Sewer fund $ 1.10 Interest on overdraft of Cemetery fund 7.50 Interest on overdraft for general street improvement fund 55.32 Interest on overdraft in general fund 181.86 The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge ,Mayor. Councilman Haynes offered the following resolution : Mrs Marchall Whereas, it appears that Mrs Mildred E Mae shall has paid into the City Treasury of the taxes City of Austin ,Texas, prior to the reduction in the val ue made by the City Council upon her improvements situated upon the south one-half of Outlot No 4 Div "Z" of the City of Austin,Texas, ,which reduction amounts to $ 400.00. Now, Therefore, Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : --- Page break --- 288 . That the sum of $ 7.33, be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the general Contingent Fund of the City of Austin, Texas, as a refund to the said Mrs Mildred E Marshall for excess taxes paid by her upon the property described in the foregoing part of this resolution : The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. Gasoline out- City Physician The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the sum of $ 60.00(Sixty) dollars , pay able at the rate of $ 5.00 per month .beginningJany 1st 1915, be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the general fund of the City of Austin, Texas, to pay for gasoline for the car of the Assistant City Physician . The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved , A P Wooldridge, Mayor. April 3rd 1915: All present: The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That for the purpose of enabling the City Clerk to use the voting City Clerk to open Election Papers boxes required to be used in the general City election to come off on the 5th instant , he is hereby authorized to remove the contents of said boxes and safely store the contents of said boxes until the further order of this Council.
