Regular meeting of the City Council : Austin, Texas April 15, 1915: The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll called : Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Absent none: The minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read and approved : Reports of City Officers: The Mayor laid before the Council the reports of the Inspector of Weights & Measures , and that of the City Sexton, which were read and ordered filed : The Committee appointed to canvass the returns of the election held on April 5th 1915,presented the following report,which was read and adopted,viz : Austin,Texas, April 15th 1915: To the Hon Mayor and City Council of the City of Austin,Texas: Gentlemen : Returns Election We your committee appointed to canvass the returns of the election held in City of Austin on Monday April 5th for Mayor and Councilmen of said City have to report that we find the returns and result of said election as canvassed and published by the City Clerk is true and correct ,and taht according to the same the following parties have been duly duly elected ,to-wit: A P Wooldridge, Mayor: E C Bartholomew, P W Powell, W B Anthony, H L Haynes ,Councilmen : Respectfully submitted, P W Powell W B Anthony H L Haynes. New Council Sworn in The Officers elect were then sworn in by the City Clerk : Bartholomew elected Mayor Pro Tem Upon the nomination of Councilman Powell, Hon E C Bartholomew was unanimously elected as Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Austin for the period of two years beginning April 15th 1915. Councilman Haynes was instructed to cast the ballot of the Council in favor of Councilman Bartholomew being Mayor Pro Tem and did so. Councilman Bartholomew offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas : W A Boswell Damage to land by lake That the sum of fifty nine dollars and fifty cents ( $ 59.50 )be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the Earnings fund of the Water ,Light and Power department of the City of Austin,Texas, for the year 1915, and made payable to W A Boswell for the value of submerged lands and other damagesdone to his property ,by reason of the lake formed by the dam building by the City of Austin across the Colorado River .

Councilman Bartholomew offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas : That the sum of two hundred and sixty ($ 260.00) dollars be and the same is he hereby appropriated out of the Earnings fund of the Water, Light and Power department of the City of Austin for the year 1915,and made payable to Geo A S Cypher for the value of submerged lands and other damages done to his property by reason of the lake formed by the dam building by the City of Austin across the Colorado River . 247 . The Resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor: H.P. Hunnioutt Damages Land Councilman Bartholomew offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas : That the sum $ 500.00, be and the same is hereby set apart and appropriated out of the $ 10,000.00, appropriated in the budget of the Water ,Light & Power Departmentof this City for the year 1915,for submerged landsto pay the claim of H P Hunniouttfor damages sustained upon his property ,a part of the William Brown survey in Travis County ,Texas, the amount of the bill for dam ges of the said H P Hunniouttwas $ 522.50,which is attached to this resolution and made a part of the same. The said H P Hunniouttagrees to accept and does accept $ 500.00 in full.MMXXXXXXXX satisfactionof this claim of $ 522.50.

Councilman Anthony offered the following resolution : Purchase Screens New Hospital Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas : That the sum of $ 500.00,or so much thereof as may prove to be necessary ,be and the is hereby appropriated ans set apart out of the proceeds of the supplimental budget made for the benefit of the new City Hospital,and applied to the purchase and installation of Screens at said new City Hospital. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor . J.S. King Fine remitted Councilman Anthony offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas : That , for good reasons thereunto moving ,one- half ,or $ 19.90,of the fine and costs imposed against J S King in cause No 9284 ,in the Corporation Court of the City of Austin, Texas, be and the same is hereby remitted. 248 W. Raunick fine Remitted . Councilman Anthony offered the following resolution :
Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That ,upon consideration of the showing made By W Raunick to the effect that the this was his first offense and that he believes that the front lights of his automobile were accidently out off by a passenger getting in or outog his automobile upon the evening of the day when he was found to be without his front lights lit,and in consideration of the fact that he was at the time traveling upon a brilliantly lighted street and did not discover that his front lights wereoff ,and in consideration of the excellent reputation of the said W Raunick for sobriety and orderliness,one-half of the fine and costs imposed upon the said W Raunick in cause No 9268,in the Corporation Court of the City of Austin , Texas,on the 9th day of April 1915, and amounting to $ 19.80,be and the same are hereby remitted ,and Be it further resolved : That the sum of $ 9.90,be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the General Contingent fund of the City of Austin,Texas, for thecurrent year as a refund to the said W Raunick of the money heretofore paid into the Treasuryof the City of Austin,Texas,on account of the fine and costs imposed in the above numbered cause.

[illegible] The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That a permit be and is hereby granted to the Austin Baseball Club of the Bare Ball Club Middle Texas League to suspend an advertisement banner across Congress Avenue Advertising Banner across Street from location 414 or 415 at the heighth of the 3rd story ,provided that said Austin Baseball Club obtains the consent of the owners of the buildings in front of which said banner is to be attached ,This permit is to be good for the day only on which the game is to be played. Resolved Further : That this permit is revocable at the pleasure of the City Council.
