New Transportation Regulation:
The city began drafting an ordinance to define, license, and regulate "Jitneys" — early forms of shared ride services — operating on Austin streets.Fueling City Utilities:
A contract was approved to secure lignite coal at 85 cents per ton for the city's Water, Light, and Power Plant.Compassionate Justice:
A $48 fine was suspended for M.A. McWhirter, acknowledging his family's situation and his struggle with alcohol, conditional on good behavior.

. Regular meeting of the City Council : Austin, Texas, June10th 1915: . The Council was called to order by the Mayor : Roll called : Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony ,Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell5 Absent none. . The minutes of the lasr regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read and adopted :
Reports of City Officers:
The Mayor laid before the Council the reports of the City Sexton, the Asst Clerk and the Supt of Streets ,which were read and ordered filed : The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Otto Mants Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas .: Drincampor That the sum of $ 250.00, be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the Gen General Contingent fund of the City of Austin,Texas, and made payable to O Dick -ens, Attorney for Otto Mants, in payment in full of the balance due said Otto Mants upon Judgement in cause No 30986,Otto Mants vs the City of Austin,in the District Court of Travis County, Texas.This appropriation is made and the money is paid upon the same and the money must be accepted in full payment and complete satisfacttion of said Judgement of Otto Mants against the City of Austin, Texas. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell5 Nays none.
Approved, A P Wooldridge, mayor.
Coal contract Councilman Bartholomew offered the following resolution : Ryan & Perry Resolved that the Supt of Parks and Public Property be authorized to contract with Messrs Ryan & Perry for such amount of Lignite as may be required by its Water, Light and Power Plant at the price of 85 cents per ton at the mines at Rockdale ,Texas, or 85 cents per ton with freight addedr f.o.b Austin, Texas, said contract to begin July 1st 1915, and to continue at the discretion of the City of Austin . The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldsidge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none.

Councilman Anthony offered the following resolution : Whereas, in consideration of the helplessness of the family of M A McQuirtor,and in McQuirten Fine consideration of the fact that he has been taken by friends to the Country to work where he will be away from liquor ,and in consideration of the fact that the passion for drink is really a disease with this man , Now, therefore, Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas: That out of consideration for the family of defendant ,the balance of the fine and co costs,amounting to $ 48.00. owing by him in cause No 940 5, State of Texas vs M A Mc Whirter, in the Corporation Court of the City of Austin,Texas ,be suspended,pending the good behavior of the said M A McWhirter. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Approved A P Wooldridge, Mayor. Jitney . The Mayor laid before the Council ,an ordinance to define the term " Jitney";to license Ordinance and.regulate the operation of Jitneys on the streets and public places of the City of Austin; and prescribing penalties for the violation thereof.The ordinance was read the first time. June 15th 1915: All present: Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That the following grades be and the same are hereby established for the center line of East 3rd street from the East property line of Congress Avenue to the East property Grades 3rd line of Neches street . Street East property line of Congress Avenue 479.88 West line of 1st alley east of Congress Avenue 479.25 East " " " " " 479.25 Center of Brazos street 479.47 West property line of Trinity street 473.20 East property line of Trinity street 472.80 East property line of Neches street 471.45 The bench mark to which these elevations are referred is the fire plug at the S E corner of 3rd street and Congress Avenue , elevation 480.74 The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none.
