348 .Regular meeting of the City Council : Austin, Texas, October 14, 1915. The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Poll called : Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew & Powell 3 Absent excused Councilmen Anthony & Haynes 2 The minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read and adopted: Councilman Powell Supt of Streets ,presented his report for the month of Sept 1915, which was read and ordered filed:
Application for service Car Driverlicense by Ross F Truesdale,was granted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew & Powell 3 Absent Councilmen Anthony & Haynes 2
W A Barkley Taxes The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Whereas,it appears from examination of titles that W A Barkley did not on the 1st day of January ,1914, nor at any other date,so far as has been made known to this Council ,own Lots 15 & 16,in Outlot 76 Division "D" ,North end addition of the City of Austin, Texas, but through error or otherwise ,assessed said property on the rolls of 1914,as his own ; and Whereas, there are certain property taxes yet owing by the said W A Barkley for the year 1914,and which said taxes for personal propertyare in the nature of a lien or claim against said Lots 15 & 16,in Outlot 76 Division "D" and constitute an improper charge against the above described property ,which is the property of W A Steen; Now, therefore, Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the Assesser & Collector of taxes of this City be and he is hereby instructed to cancel and charge off as a debt or lien against said Lots 15 & 16 Outlot 76 Division "D" any personal property or other taxes that may appear as a charge thereon in favor of the said W A Barkley. October 15th 1915. Drivers of Service Cars The following applications for license as Drivers of Service cars,were presen-ted and licenses granted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew & Powell 3 Absent excused Councilmen Anthony & Haynes 2 October 18th 1915. Mule destroyed Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That the Supt of Streets and Public Improvements be ,and he is hereby author-izedto have destroyed one mule which has become diseased and too old for service. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew & Powell 3 Absent Excused, Councilmen Anthony & Haynes 2.

349 J. C. Ross Tanks The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That a permit be and is hereby granted to John C Ross to install and maintain a 180 gallon Bowser Red Senty gasoline tank, to be approved by the Supt of Police and Public Safety, under the sidewalk at 319- 321 Congress Avenue , Austin, Texas. Resolved further: That in connection with this gasoline tank hereby authorized to be installed, the said Jno C Ross is likewise authorized to install and maintain a gasoline pumpto belocated at the curb line in front of 319- 321, Congress Avenue, at a position to be designated by the the Supt of Streets and Public Improvements;said gasoline pump to be of the most modern and approved construction and design, and subject to the approval of the Supt of Police and Public Safety. Resolved further : That Jno C Ross shall install and maintain at the top and upon the gasoline pump hereby authorized, an electric light of not less than 40 Watt power and placed in a globe of notless than ten inches in diameter,which electric light must be kept illuminated not less than three hours daily, between the hours of six and twelve O'clock P M . Resolved further: That the hose through air, gasoline or any other oilor volatile substance is conveyed, by pumping or otherwise, from the store house at 319-320 Congress Avenue, or from the tank authorized to be placed in front of same, must be kept when not in actual use, neatly coiled and stored, either in the receptaclein the sidewalk provided for such hoseor in the receptacle in the pump authorized to be installedand provided for the storing of said hose. Resolved further: That the work under this resolution authorized to be installed and maintained must be installed and maintained ,where not otherwise assigned, under the immediate supervision of the City Engineer of the City of Austin, Texas, who is hereby authorized to prescribe nessary specifications for the work herein authorized to be done. Resolved further and finally: That this permit is granted and must be accepted as revocable at any time in the pleasure of the City Council. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : bring license Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew & Powell 3 Absent excused Councilmen Anthony & Haynes 2 Application of Joe Amstead Jr , for Drivers license was granted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew& Powell 3 Absent excused Councilmen Anthony & Haynes 2 October 19th 1915. Application for Drivers licenses were presented and granted to the following named persons: Ross F Truesdale, 410 W 33 rd street, Bids Fire escape T A Stone, 610 Driskill street. Hospital The Mayor presented bids for Fire Escapes at the Hospital, which were opened ,read& rejected all bids rejected, and ordered returned to bidders.

Windsor Road changed
October 14th 1915. The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the width of Windsor Road from the point of intersection of the east line of said road with the south line of Enfield road to a point 338-2/10 feet south be changed ten ( 10 ) feet by moving up the property line on the east side of said roadbetween said above named points,for a distance of ten (10) feet towards the west. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew & Powell 3 Absent Councilmen Anthony & Haynes 2 Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor.
