November 26th 1915. Bids for paving E 1st & Red River Streets The Council was called to order by the Mayor, with all members present: The minutes of the regular meeting of November 18th 1915, and subsequent recessed meetings were read and adopted : Councilman Powell presented bids for paving East 1 st & Red River street from the following named persons and firms, vis : Texas Bithulithic Co.,Roach Mannigan Paving Co, Standard Paving Co ,Uvalde Rock Asphalt CO,J O Polhemus & the Texas Granitoid Co, which bids were opened and read ; and taken under advisement . Councilman Anthony offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas : Transferred from Hook & Ladder Maint to Misc fund That the sum of one hundred ($100.00) dollars be and the same is hereby transferred from the appropriation for " Hook and Ladder Maintenance"in the budget of the Fire Dept of the City of Austin for the year 1915,to" Miscela-neous fund " of said budget. That forty feet be ,and the same is hereby established as the width between curbs of Rio Grande street between 6th and 19th streets. 373 .Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That a permit be and is hereby granted to the Bohn-Shelby Co. to hang cloth signs over or across the sidewalk in front of their place of businessat 221- 223 East 6th street in this City, advertising Christmas Sales, from and after this date and up to January 1st 1916, said cloth signs to be securely fastened to the awnings and to be at least 8 feet above the sidewalk.
