A contract was approved for 16 tons of reinforced steel bars, and $1,000 was appropriated from the Park fund for Alamo Park materials and labor.Dam Compensation:
The city paid $53.95 to settle a lawsuit for a heifer allegedly lost due to backwater from the city's dam.

Regular meeting of the City Council; Austin, Texas, January 20, 1916. The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll called: Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Hyanes & Powell 5 Absent none. The minutes of the regular meetings of Jany 6th & 13th, and subsequent recessed meeting were read and adopted. Applications for Licenses as Drivers of Automobiles were received from the following named persons, viz: Harry M Elam, 1709 E 13th street A D Jones, Manor, Route 5. The applications were granted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none Councilman Anthony offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That, for good reasons unto the City Council shown, as is set forth more particularly in the attached statement filed with this resolution, the fine and cost imposed upon Roy Modrall in cause No 10238, in the Corporation Court of the City of Austin, Texas, for driving an automobile without tail lights, and amounting to $ 24.80, be and the same is hereby remitted. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor: Councilman Anthony offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That the balance of the fine and costs, which balance is $ 12.80, in the case of the State of Texas vs Gabriel Solis, No 10298, in the Corporation Court of the City of Austin, Texas, for assault, be and the same is hereby remitted. This resolution is chiefly based upon the recommendation of the Corporation Judge and facts learned subsequently to the imposing of the fine upon said Gabriel Solis, and the further fact that he served out more than one-half the fine and costs imposed. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor: Councilman Powell offered the following resolution: Whereas, the bid of the Walter Tips Co for sixteen tons of re-inforced steel bars, from the attached bid, is the lowest and best bid for said re-inforcing steel. Now, therefore, Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That the contract to furnish sixteen tons, more or less, of re-inforced steel, of the size set forth in the attached bid, and at the prices named in such attached bid, be and the same is hereby accepted. For information and comparison the bid of W H Richardson & Co, for the same material is filed with the bid of Walter Tips Co. The resolution was adopted by the following vote:

January 22nd 1916: All present: Alamo Park Fund Material & Labor Councilman Bartholomew offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That the sum of one thousand ( $ 1,000.00, )Dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the Park fund of the City of Austin, Texas, for the year 1916, to pay for material and labor. Hudday Secy Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That the City Treasurer and Bok-keeper be, and they are hereby requested to transfer the sum of $ 150.00, from the Water & Light fund to the Sanitary sewer fund to re-imburse said fund for this amount, which was erroneously drawn by warrant No 2690. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. Fritz Bauer fine . Councilman Anthony offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That, in consideration furnished the City of Austin by the Assistant City Attorney, Mr H B Barnhart, that the fine and costs imposed upon Fritz Bauer, for sleeping in a public place, cause 18261, State of Texas vs Fritz Bauer, and amounting to $ 14.80, be and the same is hereby remitted. Councilman RBartholomew with Fred Chandler of Austin, Texas : Councilman Bartholomew offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That the sum of $ 53.95, be and the same is hereby appropriated out of appropriation for overflowed lands in the Earnings fund of the Water, Light & Power Dept, to pay the amount of an agreed judgement in the case of C H Stelfox vs the City of Austin ,for the value of a heifer alleged to have been lost by back water from the dam, together with the costs of Court.
