562 .Regular meeting of the City Council, Austin, Texas, July 13, 1916: The Council was called to order by P W Powell, Mayor pro tem: Roll called: Present Councilmen Antony & Powell: Absent Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew & Haynes 3 No quorum being present ,the Council recessed: Councilman Powell offered the following resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That the sum of two hundred ($200.00) dollars ,be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the Sanitary Sewer fund for constructing a six (6") inch sewer line in the alley between Cantebury and Garden streets from Canadian Sewer line Canterbury & Garden sts to Anthony streets. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Haynes & Powell 4 Absent Councilman Bartholomew 1 Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. Councilman Powell offered the following resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That the sum of eleven ($11.00) dollars ,be and the same is hereby Transfer funds transferred from the General street fund to the Permanent street fund to re-imburse the latter fund for money erroneously paid out of this fund for resetting curbing at Mrs Clarence Millers place at the corner of 32nd and Kings streets. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Haynes & Powell 4 Absent Councilman Bartholomew 1 Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. Councilman Powell offered the following resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That the sum of $ 175.00, be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the Sanitary Sewer fund of the City of Austin, Texas, to be used for the Sewer line Shelley Avenue purpose of constructing a six inch sewer line on Shelley Avenue from 8th to 9th streets ,a total distance of three hundred and fifty feet. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Haynes & Powell 4 Absent Councilman Bartholomew 1 Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. Applications for licenses as Drivers of service cars were received from the Driver licenses following persons, viz: Jones Blackburn, 1007 Waller street, Spencer Buckner, 804 East 28th street, Ennis Ferguson, 1711 East 11th street, Jne Chambers , 2606 Whitis Avenue, Rebt Hall, 2101 Canterbury street, The applications were granted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Antony, Haynes & Powell 4 Absent Councilman Bartholomew 1 --- Page break --- 503 P. J. Lawles Plat adopted The.Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Whereas, P J Lawless of Austin, Texas, on February 27th 1896,had made a plat of Outlets 29 & 30,Division "D" of the City of Austin, Texas, which said map or plat was in due time filed and recorded in the deed records of Travis County, Texas,a copy of same deposited with the City Assessor & Collector of this City ; and Whereas, said P J Lawless desired that said above described plat of Outlets Nos 29& 30 , Division "D" of the City of Austin,Texas, be altered,changed and modifiedin some minor particulars and also to plat Outlets Nos 41 & 42,Division "D",of the City of Austin, Texas, in form and manner not only advantageous to himself , but, as the City Council believes , highly advantageous and beneficial to the City of Austin and the citizens thereof; and Whereas, the said City Council of the City of Austin,did on the 22nd day of March A D 1916,by resolution duly passed and approved on said day alter,change and modify said plat of said Outlots Nos 29 & 30, Division "D"to which was added a plat of Outlets Nos 41 & 42, Division "D" of the Outlets of the City of Austin, Texas, made by H F Kuehne,on July 30th 1915,and approved and adopted said plat made by H F Kuehne in lieu of and a substitute for the plat of Outlets 29 & 30 Division "D"of the City of Austin ,Texas, surveyed and drawn by J W Maxey for P J Lawless, February 27th 1896; a copy of which was deposited with the Assessor & Collector of this City; and Whereas, said P J Lawless now desires that said resolution be changed and amended so as to cancel and rescind the action of the City Council of the City of Austin in adopting and approving said plat of Outlets Nos 29 & 30,Division "D"to which was added a plat of Outlets Nos 41& 42 Division "D" of the Outlets of the City of Austin, Texas, made by H F KuehneJuly 30, 1915, by said resolution adopted and approved March 22nd 1916 as aforesaid; and that it be rescinded ,cancelled and henceforth held for naught; and that,the plat of Outlets 29 & 30 Division "D" of the Outlets of the City of Austin, Texas, made by H F Maddox,Surveyor, on May 27th 1916, and recorded in plat records of Travis County, Texas, in Book No 3 ,page 43 be approved and adopted in lieu of and substitute for said plats of Outlets Nos 29 & 30, Division "D" of the City of Austin, Texas, platted by said H F Kuehne on July 30,1915, and by Jno W Maxey for P J Lawless February 27, 1896; and Whereas, it is thebelief of the City Council that it will not effect injuriouslyany private or vested right by adopting said new plat of said OutletsNos 29 & 30,Division "D" of the City of Austin, Texas, and that it will be advantageous and beneficial to the City of Austin and the Citizens thereof, therefore, Be itresolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That, as a preliminary to the adoption of said substituted plat, of Outlets 29 & 30 ,Divisi "D", Oakwood,or West 22 ½ street ,be and the same is hereby reduced in width from Sixty to Fifty feet ; and the part of the West 22 ½ street ,or Oakwood street, beginning at the West line of Longwood street,which intersects said Oakwood or West 22 ½ street ,and proceeds westwardly ,be and the same is hereby declared vacated and no longer a public throughfare, and that part of the alley which lies between West 22 and West 22½ streets and which begins 480 feet West of Longview street in Outlet No 29 Division "D" and proceeding westwardly, be and the same is hereby declared vacant. That said plat of Outlets 29 & 30 Division "D" to which was added a plat of Outlots Nos 41 & 42, Division "D" of the Outlets of the City of Austin, Texas, made by H F Kuehne July 30, 1916,which was adopted by resolution of the City Council of the City of Austins on March 22nd 1916, and approved by the Mayor on the same day and the plat of Outlets 29 & 30 Division "D"made and drawn by Jno W Maxey for P J Lawless on February 27th 1896,be and the same is hereby cancelled ,rescinded and henceforth held for naught. --- Page break --- CC4 . That the plat of Outlets 29 & 30,Division "D" to which was added a plat of Outlets Nos 41 & 42,Division "D" of the Outlets of the City of Austin, Texas, made by F H Keuhne July 30,1915,which was adopted by resolution of the City Council of the City of Austin on March 22,1916,and approved by the Mayor on the same day and the plat of Outlets 29 & 30,Division "D"made and drawn by Jno W Maxey for P J Lawless on February 27,1896be and the same is hereby canceld recinded and henceforth held for naught. That the plat of Outlets Nos 29 & 30, Division "D"of the Outlets of the City City of Austin, Texas, made by the said H F Maddox,Surveyor of the City of Austin for P J Lawless of Austin,Texas,on May 27,1916, and recorded in plat Book No3 at page 45 records of Travis County ,Texas, to which said plat and the record thereof reference is here made for description,be and the same is hereby approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas, in lieu of and as a substitute for the plat of Outlets 29 & 30,Division "D"and Outlets Nos 41 & 42 ,Division "D"of the Outlets of the City of Austin, Texas, made by H F Kaehne July 30th 1915,and also in lieu of plat of Outlets 29 & 30 in Division "D"surveyed and drawn by J W Maxey for P J Lawlesson February 27,1896. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Antheny, Haynes & Powell 4 Absent Councilman Barthelemew 1 Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. July 18th 1916. Building Permit The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That the petition of Walter Tips Hardware Co., dated June 13th 1916, and attached hereto, be and the same is hereby granted, and leave is granted the said Walter Tips Hardware Cote erect upon the south ½ of Lot No 2, Block 83 City of Austin, Texas, a structure no part of which is to be built of wood but of steel or iron framework and galvanized iron side and top, in which to store material, the property of said Walter Tips Hardware Co. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Haynes & Powell 4 Absent Councilman Bartholomew 1 Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor.
