628 Regular meeting of the City Council : Austin, Texas, October 19, 1916: The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll called: Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell Absent none: The minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read and adopted:
Councilman Bartholomew offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That, upon the request of E C Bartholomew, Supt of Parks and Public Property of the City of Austin, the sum of $ 12,800.00, from the unexpended balances out of the following appropriations in the budget of the Water, Light and Power Depart-ment for the year 1916, to wit: $ 5,000.00 out of the unexpended balance of $ 6,084.40, for the payment of overflowed lands. Transfer of Funds. $ 4,000.00, out of the unexpended balance of $ 8,205.75, for the payment of salaries at the Plant . $ 1,000.00, out of the unexpended balance of $ 2,905.00, for the payment of water line salaries. $ 800.00, out of the unexpended balance of $ 1,006.91, for the payment of salary o of Inspector at the dam, and $ 2,000.00, out of the unexpended balance of $ 12,000.00, for the payment for better water supply at Plant, be transferred to the appropriation for payment for temporary labor for plant and lines. $ 12,800.00.

Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That the sum of five thousand ($ 5,000.00), dollars ,be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the Permanent Street Improvement fund to complete the work of improving the channel of Shoal creek from 4th to 12th street. 640 Carl Luetcke - Property Line. Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : Whereas, Carl Luetoke of Austin, Texas, is the present owner of Lot No6, Block 139, situated at the northwest intersection of Lavacca and 15th streets in this City; and Whereas, it has been determined by the City Engineerthat the fence now erected and in position on the alley side of said lot is located too far north in said alley by a distance of 1-3/ 10 feet; but Whereas, said Carl Lueteke has furnished the City Council with the affid -davits attached hereto of E Raven and Ed A Dahlich to the effect that said fence and the fences which have preceded it on said line were in theirpresent identical position since the year A D 1876; and Whereas, said affidavits seem to indicate that it is possible the City of Austin has lost title by limitation to said strip of ground in question, Now, therefore, Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That permission be and is hereby granted to the said Carl Lueteke to occu-py that portion off the north end of Lot 6 Block 139, City of Austin,Texas, which includes the present line of fencing on said premises. Gentry Dog & Pony Show Permit. October 25th 1916: The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That the Gentry Dog and Pony Show is hereby given the right to exhibit on East Avenue in this City from 6th to 8th street on the afternoon and night of November 10th next ,and Resolved further: That as a convenience to said exhibition ,7th & 8th street where it crosses East Avenue is hereby declared to be closed to traffic on November 10th 1916. Fire Inspection Board - Recommenda[tions] The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That the recommendation of the Fire Inspection Board of the State of Texas that concrete pits be placed about the oil tanks at the various oil stations in this City be and for the time being is hereby waived.All other recommendations of ta the Fire Insppection Board are directed to be enforced by the Fire Marshal of this City.
