    Remitted a 1915 tax penalty for J.V. Macory due to severe losses from the April 1915 floods, contingent on him paying the remaining taxes.
  • Boost Public Health & Infrastructure:

    Allocated funds for an Assistant Sanitary Officer to enforce sewer connections and approved a contract for two carloads of water pipes.
  • Budget Reallocation:

    Transferred $250 from the city's prisoner meals budget to miscellaneous police expenses.
  • Legal Judgment Settled:

    Authorized a $400 payment to James and Lena Allen to resolve a court judgment against the city.

Regular meeting of the City Council: Austin,Texas,November 30, 1916. Present, Mayor Wooldridge: The Mayer states that this being a legal Holiday,the Council would recess until tomorrow: December 1st 1915: All present: The minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read and adapted: The Mayer laid before the Council the reports the Public Weigher for the month of November & that of the Supt of the Water & Light Plant for Sept 1916, which were read and ordered filed: Reports Read. Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas : J. V. Macory - Damages Taxes. That in consideration of the very severe pecuniary loss sustained by J V Macory in the floods of April 22nd & 23rd ,1915, the sum of two dollars and forty seven cents ($2.47) the same being the penalty owing upon his unpaid taxes for the year 1915,be and the same is hereby remitted ; it being understood that the said J V Macory will promptly pay the balance in full ,principal and interest, of his taxes for the year 1915. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony,Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Maypre 5th 1916: All present Councilman Anthony offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : Transfer of Funds. That the sum of two hundred and fifty ($ 250.00) dollars, be and the same is hereby transferred from the appropriation for meals for City prisoners in the budget of the City of Austin,Texas, for the year 1916, to the appropriation for miscellaneous Police in said budget. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor: Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas : Asst. Sanitary Officer That the sum of thirty($30.00), dollars,be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the Sanitary Sewer Earnings fund for the purpose of paying the Asst Sanitary Officer,for the month of December $ 25.00, and $ 5.00 ,for one fifth of the month of November,to assist the Sanitary Attorney in enforcing sewer connections. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. Water Pipe - Contract with Walton Tips Co. Councilman Bartholomew offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas: That the Supt of Parks & Public Property of the City of Austin, Texas, be authorized to contract with the Walton Tips Co,for two car loads of two inch pipe,at a price of 2 32/100 cents per foot, f,o,b, Austin,Texas. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge; Councilmen Anthony,Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor --- Page break --- 670 Damages - James & Lena Allen Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That the sum of four hundred ($ 400.00) dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the General Contingent Fund of the City of Austin, Texas, in payment in full of the Judgement of James Allen and Lena Allen recovered in the 53rd Judicial District Court of Travis County, Texas, in cause No 34004. As per the terms of the attached statement of said judgement and receipt for same, bearing date December 7th 1916. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. The Council adjourned. Jno. F.
