Regular meeting of the City Council : Austin,Texas, March 1 at 1917: The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll called: Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Absent none: The minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read and adopted: The Mayor laid before the Council the report of the City Engineer for the month of January 1917, and that of the Public Weigher for the month of February 1917, which were read and ordered filed:
March Max2nd 1917: Allpresent: The Mayor laid before the Council applications from E R Lytle,407 W Johanna street,and W T Suhr , 1107 E 6th street for licenses as drivers of service cars, which were granted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none:
a L Green Pay Co-of-fees Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the sum of two hundred fifty ($ 250.00) dollars,be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the general contingent fund of the City of Austin,Texas,for the year 1917 in payment of the balance sue A L Green, Attorney, for revising the ordinances of the City of Austin,Texas .

Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas: Prorated Water Dept That the sum of five thousand ($5,000.00) dollars be and the same is hereby transferre 10 Sewer Fund from the unappropriated balance of surplus funds in the Water, Light and Power Dept of this City to the Sanitary Sewer fund ,and is hereby made subject to appropriation from time to time ,as the needs of that department of the City Government may require. 784 Transfer funds United Charities
Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That the sum of seventy five ($ 75.00) dollars be and the same is hereby transferred from the appropriatin for " Care of Consumptives" for the quarter ending April 1st 1917,,from the budget from the Mayor's department for the year 1917, and set apart for relief work for the United Charities Association. The warrant for this appropriation is directed to be issued to the United Charities Association. Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That the sum of eleven dollars and twenty five ($11.25) cents be and the same is hereby transferred from the item of " Salary Keeper for Hospital Park" and appropriated to the expense of shrubs for Brush Park in the Budget for this City for the year 1917. Cullen & Caswell Gasoline Tank
Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That a permit is hereby granted to the Cullen & Caswell Autimobile Company to install and maintain a 280 gallon gasoline tank, to be approved by the Supt of Police and Public Safety ,under the sidewalk in front of Numbers 106 & 112 E 8th street ,in the City of Austin, Texas. Resolved further: That in connection with this gasoline tank, hereby authorized to be installed, the said Cullen & Caswell Autimobile Company is likewise authorized to install ad and maintain a "Wayne" gasoline pump to be located at the curb line in front of numbers 106-112 E 8'h street in a position to be desgna ted by the Supt of Street and Public Improvements ,said gasoline pump to be of the most modern and approved construction and design and subject to the approval of the Supt of Police and Public Safety. Resolved further: That the Cullen & Caswell Autimobile Company shall install and maintain at the tp top of and upon the gasoline pump hereby authorized, an electric light of not less than 40 watt power and placed in a globe of not less than ten inches indiameter

705 which electric light must be kept illuminated not less than three hours daily, between the hours of 6 an 12 o'clock P M, during the existence of this permit. Resolved further: That the hose through air, water, gasoline or any other oil or volitile substance is conveyed by pumping or otherwise from the store house at Nos 186-112 E 8th street or from the pump hereby authorized to be placed in front of same ,must be kept when not in actual use ,neatly coiled and stored in a receptacle provided for such hose in the pump author-ized to be installed ,or suspended from a suitable bracket attached to the pump. Resolved further : That the work under this resolution authorized to be installed and maintained, where not otherwise assigned ,under the immediate supervision of the City Engineer of Austin,Texas, who is hereby authorized to prescribe necessary specifications for the work herein authorized to be done. Resolved further and finally: That this permit is granted only for the installation of a gasoline tank and pump and does not include the installation or construction of a storage box for hose underneath the sidewalk and this permit is granted and must be accepted as revocable at any time at the pleasure of the City Council . Jno Blandino Rices Driver March 5th 1917: All present: Application of Jno Blandino for license as driver service car was presented and license granted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge ,Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. March 5th 1917: Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : Cuchmalin [illegible] line Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That the sum of $ 150.00,be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the Sanitary Sewer fund to pay for the construction of a six(6) inch sewer line ,285 feet in length on West Avenue and in the alley west from West Avenue between 32nd & 34th streets . The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : [illegible] That the sum of thirty nine dollars and seventy cents ($39.70),be and the same is hereby transferred from the item of " Salary of Keeper for Hospital Park" to the expenses of shrubs for 11th street park in the budget of the City of Austin for the year 1917.
