704 .Regular meeting of the City Council: Austin,Texas, April 19, 1917: The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll called P Present Mayor Wooldridge ,Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Absent none: The minutes of the last,regular and subsequent recessed maastings were read and approved: The Mayorlaid before the Council the reports of the Inspector Weights and Measures and the Sanitary Inspector for the month of March 1917, which were read anfd filed:
Councilman Powell elected Mayor protem The Mayor declared nominations for Mayor pro tem ,were now in order. Councilman Powell was nominated for Mayor pro tem. There being no other nominations ,Councilman Powell was elected as Mayor pro tem by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilman Anthony, Bartholomew & Haynes 4 Not voting Councilman Powell 1 The Mayor declared Councilman Powell duly elected Mayor pro tem for the ensuing term. Mayor Wooldridge submitted the following nominations for confirmation in Nomination of officers his department for the ensuing term, viz: J Bouldin Rector ,for City Attorney, A S Phelps for Asst City Attorney, Z T Fulmore ,for City Recorder, Jno O Johnson ,for City Clerk, Milton Morris ,for Asst City Clerk, Miss Hallie Mc Kellar ,for Stenographer, Mrs N W Holden for Secretary United Charities, Mrs M Z King ,for Asst Secretary United Charities, C H Cross, for Inspector Weights & Measures, P J Plumb ,for Public Weighor.
