770 Regular meeting of the City Council: Austin, Texas, May 03, 1917: The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll called: Present,Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Absent none, The minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read and adopted: The Mayor laid before the Council the report of the Assessor & Collecto of taxes for the month of April 1917, which was read and ordered filed: The Mayor laid before the Council a resolution transferrinf $ 25,000.00, from the water & light fund to the Sanitary sewer fund, which resolution had been read the fir st time on the 26th day of April and laid over for one week The resolution was read the second time and passed by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. The Mayor laid before the Council an amendment to the budget, which had been introduced and read on the 26th day of April and laid over for one week. The resolution was read the second time and passed by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That the City Treasurer and the Bookkeeper of the street department be authorized and directed to transferrfrom the Street improvement fund to the Permanent Street fund the sum of $ 390.75, to correct an error in drawing warrant No 5004 Perma-nent Street fund ,which should have been drawn from the Street Improvement fund. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none: Councilman Powell offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That the petition of T A Martin to lay a four inch water pipe across Riverside drive in South Austin to irrigate certain lands owned by the said T A Martin adjacent to Riverside drive be and the same is hereby granted;provided that the work of installation under this permit and the general supervision of same is to be under the supervision and subject to the approval of the City Engineer. Councilman Haynes offered the following resolution : Whereas, on the 3rd day of May 1917, three legal bids were made,in the way of interest on daily balances ,for the custody of the City funds; and Whereas, the bid of ,0250% of Chester Thrasher is the highest and best bid for the custody of the funds of this City for the next two years; Now, therefore, Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That the bid of Chester Thrasher of this City for the custody of the City funds for the next two years next ensueing be and the same is hereby accepted; provided,that the said Chester Thrasher shall submit to the City Council for approval ,bond of himself in the amount of One hundred thousand ($ 100,000.00) The resolution was adopte by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell . 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor.

Councilman Anthony offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That for good and sufficient reasons unto the Council moving ,the pound fees imposed against Mrs Emma L. Wansley,on the 8th day of April 19 7,amounting to $ 1.50, be and the same are hereby remitted. April 4th 1917 : All present: The Mayor offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That in consideration of the conveyance by Mrs Letitia Seiders of a strip Mrs Seiders from 38 and 41st street of land thirteen and one-half feet wide off of the west side of Lot No 5 in Edward Seiders sub-division ,a part of the Geo W Spear league ,and extending from 38 to 41 st streets ,the Mayor of the City be and he is hereby authorized to make a conveyance of a strip of land 13 ½ feet by 110 feet ,more or less, of Alice Avenue Just east and adjacent to lot No 3 of the Edward Seiders sub- divi -sion ,a part of the Geo W Spear league,and extending from 38 to 41 st streets. The purpose of these conveyances in exchange of the one for the other,is to straighten the west line of Alice Avenue from 38 to 41st streetand the straightn the alley along the west line of lot no 5 in the Edward Sieders sub-division. May 5th 1917: All present: Councilman Anthony offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That for good and sufficient causes unto the City Council shown,the fineand H R Stone fine remitted costs ,amounting to $ 14.80 ,imposed against H R Stone in the Corporation Court of the City of Austin, Texas, in cause No 11890, May 4th 1917,for unlawfully riding a train ,be and the same are hereby remitted.
