The minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read and adopted: The Mayor laid before the Council the reports of the Asst City Clerk& Sanitary Inspector for the month of April, and that of the Supt of the Water & Light plant for the month of March 1917, which were read and ordered filed:

781 APRIL 25th 1917: All present except Anthony: The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That the sum of three hundred eighty nine dollars and ten cents ($ 389.10) be and Transfer Funds the same is hereby transferred from the appropriation for dirt for the City Hospitalin the general fund of the City of Austin for the year 1917 and credited to the Park fund. The Mayor laid before the Council An ordinance authorizing, empowering and instructing the Mayor of the City of Austin to enter into a contract with William Young, for the purpose of installing a unit system of equalization of real estate values, for the use of the tax Assessor & Collector, Board of Equalization and City Council of said City, substantially to the effect and in the terms contained in this ordinance; and making an appropriation: The ordinance was read the second time: Councilman Bartholomew moved to amend the ordinance requiring the said William Young to give an indemnity bond to the City in the amount of five thousand ($5,000.00) dollars ,agreeing to complete the work of this contract with the City of Austin, Texas, within the price of the contract, to-wit, $ 6,600.00.
