.Regular meeting of the City Council: Austin, Texas, Sept 13th 1917: The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll Called: Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony,Bartholomew, Haynes & Po ell: 5 Absent none. The minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read and adopted. Councilman Anthony presented the resignations of the following Firemen of the Fire Dept : Roy Fruith, Camilla Maufrsis & Walter L Hearn.The resignations were accept -ed by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell - Nays none:
Firemen appointed Councilman Anthony nominated Emmett Campbell, Mark Turner & Jas W Hornsby to be hosemen, which nominations were confirmed by the following vote, the vote being taken on each seperately: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 4 Not voting Councilman nthony 1

J A Ayres, overassessment refunded September 14th 1917: All present: Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution : Whereas, it appears from the attached statement of J A Ayres, which the Council believes to be correct,that his lots Nos 3& 4,Block 9 of the City of Austin ,Texas, were overassessed in the municipal assessment for the year1916 ,as is shown by the fact that the Board of appraisers for the present year have assessed lots at $ 800.00, instead of $ 1,200.00 as they were assessed in the year 1916. Now therefore, Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas: That the sum of $ 800.00, be and the same is hereby fixed as the proper appraised value for taxation purposes of Lots Nos 3& 4, in Block No 9, of the City of Austin,Texas, for the year CX 1916. This amount was donated by W H Stacy & Co and put into the Permanent fund for the purpose of building this structure.The estimate of the City Engineer was for this amount. Sept 18th 1917: All present: Mayor Weeldridge offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That the sum of four hundred and forty ($ 440.00 ) do lars,being the unexpended balance in the budget for 2917 for the construction and fill of a storm sewer on south Congress Avenue from James to Nellie streets and north of Nellie street,be and the same is hereby concentrated upon and appropriated exclusively to the fill across said storm sewer at Nellie street in this City. Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That the sum of Ninety ($90.) dollars, representing the difference for six months appropriation between the salary heretofore paid the General Secretary of the United Charities and the Relief work salary paid the present secretary of the United Charities, said difference being the sum United Charities of fifteen ($15.00) dollars, per month be and the same is hereby set apart and appropri-ated to relief work as done by the United Charities, and be it further resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That warrant is hereby authorized to be issued to the General Secretary of the United Charities in payment of this appropriation.
