J A Ayres, overassessment refunded September 14th 1917: All present: Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution : Whereas, it appears from the attached statement of J A Ayres, which the Council believes to be correct,that his lots Nos 3& 4,Block 9 of the City of Austin ,Texas, were overassessed in the municipal assessment for the year1916 ,as is shown by the fact that the Board of appraisers for the present year have assessed lots at $ 800.00, instead of $ 1,200.00 as they were assessed in the year 1916. Now therefore, Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas: That the sum of $ 800.00, be and the same is hereby fixed as the proper appraised value for taxation purposes of Lots Nos 3& 4, in Block No 9, of the City of Austin,Texas, for the year CX 1916. This amount was donated by W H Stacy & Co and put into the Permanent fund for the purpose of building this structure.The estimate of the City Engineer was for this amount. Sept 18th 1917: All present: Mayor Weeldridge offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas : That the sum of four hundred and forty ($ 440.00 ) do lars,being the unexpended balance in the budget for 2917 for the construction and fill of a storm sewer on south Congress Avenue from James to Nellie streets and north of Nellie street,be and the same is hereby concentrated upon and appropriated exclusively to the fill across said storm sewer at Nellie street in this City.
