Regular meeting of the City Council. Austin, Texas. December 06, 1917 The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll called: Present, Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen. Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Absent none: On motion the reading of the minutes was postponed until the next regular meeting: Reports of City Officers: The Mayor laid before the Council the following reports of City Officers for the month of November 1917, which were read and ordered filed: The Assessor & Collector, teh Asst City Clerk, the Sexton, the Marshal, the Cashier Sewer fund, the Plumbing Inspector, the City Health Officer. The Mayor laid before the Council a resolution ordering the improvement of a certain part of 19th street, in the City of Austin, and approving specification, contract and bond therefor, which resolution was read on the 22nd day of November 1917, and laid over. The resolution was read and passed by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none: Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That the sum of one thousand ($ 1,000.00) dollars, be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the special appropriation in the budget for 1917,for rebuilding the Dam to pay for damages caused by the overflow of lands belonging to the Brueggermann place. December 10th 1917: Councilman. Anthony offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That for good and sufficient reasons unto the City Council moving, the balance of the fine and costs, amounting to eight dollars and eighty cents ($ 8.80) in cause No 12591, State of Texas vs H K Landgraff, in the Corporation Court of the City of Austin, Texas, for unlawfully riding a train, be and the same is hereby remitted. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen. nthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none: Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor.

.Councilman Anthony offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas: That for good and sufficient reasons unto the City Council moving, the balance of the fine and costs ,amounting to eight dollars and eighty ce cents( $ 8.80) in cause NO 12592,State of Texas vs H H Doton in the Corporation Court of the City of Austin, Texas, for unlawfully riding a train ,be and the same is hereby remitted. The resolution was adopted by the folowing vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilman Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor. CH. L.H. Page Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution : tax assessments Whereas, there seems to the City Council to be an inequality in the reduced assessment for taxation purposes for the years 1914,1915 & 1916, of lots Nos 47 & 5,of the south half of Outlot No 47,of the Mathis subdivision of Division "D" of the City of Austin, Texas, which lots are owned by C H Page and L C Page,respectively, in comparison with the assessment with the adjacent ,similarly situated properties, Now therefore, Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That after a full and fair consideration of the facts of the case, for taxation purposes the property of L C Page is hereby directed to be assessed at the rate of twelve dollars and fifty cents per front foot for the said years 1914,1915 & 1916, and that of C H Page at thirteen ($13.00) dollars per front foot for the years 1914,1915 & 1916. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor.
