Regular meeting of the City Council. Austin, Texas January 17, 1918 : The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll called: Present,Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Absent none. On motion the reading of the minutes was postponed until the next regular meeting: Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution : Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That for good and sufficient reasons unto the City Council shown,and also upon the recommendation of the Asst City Attorney,the fine and costs,amounting to $ 10.80, in cause No 12666. The State of Texas vs Will Henzel in the Corporation Court of the City of Austin, Texas,for intoxication, be and the same is hereby remitted. Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution : Resolved by by the City Council of the City of Austin, Tex s: That the sum of two hundred and fifty ($ 250.00) dollars, be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the general contingent fund of the City of Austin, Tex s, as an emergency appropriation for the benefit of the miscellaneous needs of the City Hospital. Collett Empty Dam Lake January 23rd 1918: Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution : Whereas, Guy A Collett, Receiver of the Austin Dam, believes that it is desirable to empty the lake formed by the dam with a view of investigating the condition of the foundation of said dam, with the express purpose of stopping the leaks now threatening to undermine the dam if it be found practicable to do so . Now therefore, Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That we hereby consent to the emptying of the lake by the said Guy A Collett , Receiver, for the purpose hereinabove set out. The resolution was adopted by thefollowing vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell Nays none, Approved, A P Wooldridge, Mayor.
