57 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, February 14, 1918. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call disclosed the following present: Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes, and Powell; absent, none. The Mayor laid before the Council the following Resolution: RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS: That one-half, or Nine Dollars and Ninety Cents ($9.90) of the fine heretofore assessed against J. L. Dement in the Corporation Court of the City of Austin, Texas, in Cause No. 12723 for speeding, and amounting to Nineteen Dollars and Eighty Cents ($19.80), be and the same is hereby remitted. J. L. Dement fine The Resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas--Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes, and Powell, 5; nays, none. APPROVED, Feb. 14, 1918: A. P. Wooldridge, Mayor. The Mayor offered the following Resolution: RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS: That for good and sufficient reasons unto the City Council shown, H. H. Pool Pound fee one-half, or One Dollar and Fifty Cents ($1.50) of the pound fees amounting to Three Dollars ($3.00) heretofore imposed against H. H. Pool, be and the same is hereby remitted, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That it appearing that said Three Dollars ($3.00) pound fees has been paid into the City Treasury, the sum of One Dollar and Fifty Cents ($1.50) be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the General Contingent Fund of the City of Austin, Texas, to reimburse said H. H. Pool for the pound fees so paid in by him. The Resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas--Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes, and Powell, 5; nays, none. APPROVED, Feb. 14, 1918: A. P. Wooldridge, Mayor. The Mayor laid before the Council his Budget for the year 1918, Budget for 1918. which was read by him and laid over for one week for final action. A delegation of Austin women was present to urge favorable action upon the item of $2400.00 in the Budget for the salary of a full-time Full Time Health Officer Health Officer. Dr. R. J. Brackenridge and others were present in the interest of an appropriation in the Budget for the remodeling or repair of the old City Hospital building. The Council then adjourned. J. G.
