158 City Treasurer: Transfers SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, February 15, 1918. The Council was called to order by the Mayor: all members present. The Mayor laid before the Council the following Resolution: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS: That the Treasurer be and the same is hereby requested to transfer the sum of $6,435.99, now in the name of Chester Thrasher, City Treasurer of the City of Austin, to credit of the General Street Improvement Fund. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Treasurer be and he is hereby requested to transfer the sum of $66.36, now in the name of Chester Thrasher, City Treasurer of the City of Austin, to the credit of the Sanitary Sewer Fund. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Treasurer be and the same is hereby requested to transfer the sum of $0.97, now in the City Treasury in the name of Chester Thrasher, City Treasurer of the City of Austin, to the credit of the Sanitary Sewer Earnings Fund. The Resolution was adopted by the following vote: YeasMayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes, and Powell, 5; nays, none. APPROVED, Feb. 15, 1918: A. P. Wooldridge, Mayor. The Council then adjourned. J. A. Warren City Clerk. SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, February 16, 1918. The Council was called to order by the Mayor: all members present except Councilman Haynes. Dr. J. F. Gullett Asst City Physician Councilman W. B. Anthony nominated Dr. J. F. Gullett to be Assistant City Physician, which nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Yeas--Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew and Powell, 3; Councilman Haynes absent; Councilman Anthony not voting. The Council then adjourned. J. A. Warren City Clerk. SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, February 20, 1918. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call disclosed the following members present: Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes, and Powell; absent, none. The Mayor offered for adoption the following Resolution, which had been introduced and read the first time at the Council meeting of February 13, 1918: A RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Austin has contracted the sale of $50,000 of School Bonds, dated January 1, 1918, to William R. --- Page break --- 150 Wm R. Compton Co. Cm[illegible] Compton Company of St. Louis, Mo., agreeing in said contract to pay to said William R. Compton Company a commission of $1460.00 for their services in certain matters connected therewith; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the sum of Fourteen Hundred and Sixty ($1460.00) Dollars, be, and the same is hereby set aside and appropriated out of the general fund of said City to pay said commission, the same to be paid to said William R. Compton Company at the time they take up and pay for said bonds according to their contract. The Resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas--Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes, and Powell, 5; nays, none. APPROVED, February 20, 1918: A. P. Wooldridge, Mayor. APPROVED: J. Bouldin Rector, City Attorney. ATTEST: J. A. Warren, City Clerk. Explanation was made that the amount of the commission authorized to be paid William R. Compton Company--$1460.00--had been paid into the City Treasury to the credit of the General Fund by the Board of Trustees of the Austin Public Schools; which amount is now re-appropriated out of the General Fund for the purpose of paying said commission. Councilman H. L. Haynes nominated Ed R. Huck and R. H. Felter to be Special Assistant Tax Assessors. The nominations were confirmed by the following vote: Yeas--Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, and Powell, 4; Councilman Haynes not voting. The Council then adjourned. E. R. Huck R.
