200 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, March 12, 1918. The Council met with all members present except Councilman Haynes. City Treasurer: Distribution of funds RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS: 1. That the City Treasurer of the City of Austin, Texas, be and he is hereby requested, authorized and instructed to distribute the undistributed funds now in his hands as City Treasurer, in the amount of $67,832.03, in the following amounts, to the following accounts, and to the credit of the funds stated below. This resolution is intended in part to be retroactive and to cover undistributed balances with the City Treasurer since the 1st of January, 1918. 3. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with the provisions of this resolution be and the same are hereby repealed. The Resolution was adopted by the following vote: YeasMayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, and Powell, 4; absent, Councilman Haynes, 1. APPROVED, March 12, 1918: A. P. Wooldridge, Mayor. The Mayor offered the following Resolution: Whereas, it appears from the statement of A. S. Thweatt, Secretary of the Board of Equalization of this city for the year 1917, which statement has been made direct to the Mayor of this city and is by him given to this Council, that the Board of Equalization assessed Lot 4, Block 75 for the year 1917 the east 43 feet of Lot No. 4, Block No. 75 of this city at Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) but reconsidered their action and placed the assessment upon said property at One Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars ($1,800.00). Now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS: That the valuation of One Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars ($1,800.00) be and the same is hereby fixed by the City Council for the year 1917 upon the said east 43 feet of Lot No. 4, Block No. 75, of the City of Austin, Texas. --- Page break --- 201 The Resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas--Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, and Powell, 4; absent, Councilman Haynes, 1. APPROVED, March 12, 1918: A. P. Wooldridge, Mayor. The Mayor laid before the Council "An ordinance providing for the licensing of automobiles engaged in the business of carrying passengers for hire, providing penalties for violation hereof, and repealing all ordinances in conflict herewith." The Ordinance was read the first time and laid over. A number of automobile owners were present by invitation of the Council, and expressed their views with reference to certain provisions of the Ordinance. The Council then adjourned.
