During the special session, a $300 tax assessment from 1917 for Charles Spreen's automobile was canceled. The council concluded Spreen did not own the car when the tax was assessed.

SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, May 22, 1918. The Council met with all members present. The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS: That the assessment of an automobile for taxes of the year 1917, at $300.00, against Charles Spreen, be and the same is hereby cancelled and annulled, for the reason that the Council believes from the attached statement of the said Charles Spreen that he did not own the said automobile on January 1st, 1917.

The resolution was adopted by a vote of 5 yeas, no nays. APPROVED, May 22, 1918: A. P. Wooldridge, Mayor. The Council then adjourned. V.J. Martin City Clerk
