31 Jno. Hill Denver Car license SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, July 26, 1918. The Council met with all members present. The application of John Hill, of Taylor, for public service car license on his Ford car, No. 145850, was laid before the Council and granted by vote of 5 yeas, no nays. The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: Whereas, in the judgment of the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas, it appears that in a broad way of equalizing the property values of Hyde Park Addition to the City of Austin, Texas, with other additions to the City of Austin, Texas, some of which are much nearer the center of the city than is Hyde Park Addition and are otherwise as favorably conditioned as is Hyde Park Addition, certain properties in Hyde Park Addition have not been fairly equalized with other properties elsewhere similarly situated in the City of Austin, Texas, Hyde Park addition assessments Now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS: That the appeal of M. M. Shipe for himself and as agent for properties represented by him in Hyde Park Addition in the name of M. M. Shipe, Agent, and John Doe and others standing in the name of the M. K. & T. Land Company from the action of the Board of Equalization for the year 1917 upon certain properties alleged in the appeal of said M. M. Service car licenses The Mayor laid before the Council the following applications for public service car licenses: Joe Bell,RFD No. 1 (East Seventh street), Mitchell car, No. _____; E. L. Jackson, Overland car, No. 133069; Willie Arnold, RFD No. 1, Cedar Creek, Ford, No. 2736. All were granted by votes of 5 yeas, no nays. W. T. Ordinance regulating food product establishments The Mayor laid before the Council "An ordinance amending an ordinance entitled "An ordinance defining 'food products' and 'food prod- ucts establishments,' requiring a permit for the operation of such establishments, providing for sanitary regulations of the same, and prescrib- ing penalties." The ordinance was read the first time, after which the Mayor moved that the rules be suspended and the ordinance be placed on its second reading. The motion carried by a vote of 5 yeas, no nays. It was read the second time, and the Mayor moved that the rule be further suspended and the ordinance placed on its third reading. The motion prevailed by a vote of 5 yeas, no nays. After the ordinance had been read the third time, the Mayor moved its final passage, the motion prevailing by a vote of 5 yeas, no nays. The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS: Registration of vital statistics: approp. for That the sum of One Hundred Two Dollars and Fifty Cents ($102.50) be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the General Contingent Fund of the City of Austin, Texas, to pay the account of S. A. Woolsey, City Physician and City Registrar of Vital Statistics, for the registration of four hundred and ten birth and death certificates, per the attached statement of W. A.
