Purchase of Wesenberg property for Oakwood Cemetary Authorized
SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, Oct. 29, 1918.
The Council met with all members present except Councilman Anthony.
The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS: 1. That the Superintendent of Parks and Public Property be and he is hereby authorized to purchase at a price not to exceed $3,500.00, Lots 1 and 2 in Block No. 10, Outlot 36, Division "B", of Austin, Texas, the property of Gus F. Wesenberg. 2. That $3,500.00, or so much thereof as may prove to be necessary, be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the Cemetery Purchase Fund to include the purchase of the property named in the first section hereof. The resolution was adopted by a vote of 3 yeas, 1 nay,. Councilman Bartholomew voting in the negative. APPROVED, Oct. 29, 1918: A. P. Wooldridge, Mayor.
There was laid before the Council the following resolution: RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That Public Service Car License No. 25, taken out by Albert Dearing for Studebaker automobile No. 207647, be and the same is hereby transferred and made to apply, without extra charge, to National car No. 133279. This resolution was passed by a vote of 4 yeas, no nays. APPROVED, Oct. 29, 1918: A. P. Wooldridge, Mayor.
Transfer Public Service Car License Albert Dearing
The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the sum of $2.61 be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the General Contingent Fund of the City of Austin to reimburse R. W. Gage for taxes paid by him on an automobile erroneously assessed against him. For the basis of this resolution, attention is directed to a resolution passed by the City Council on October 7, 1918, cancelling the taxes on said automobile, together with the affidavit of the said R. W. Gage thereto attached, in which he affirmed that the taxes on said automobile for the year 1917, amounting to $2.61, had been paid by him. The resolution was adopted by a vote of 4 yeas, no nays. APPROVED, Oct. 29, 1918: A. P. Wooldridge, Mayor.
