REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, Feb. 6, 1919.
The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following present: Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes, and Powell, 5; absent none. There was laid before the Council and read the second time "An ordinance authorizing the Houston & Texas Central Railroad Company to change the location of its main line track along Fourth (4th) Street where it crosses East Avenue by moving the same north a short distance, thus lessening the curvature in the track; and also to change the location of said line along Fifth Street where it crosses Comal Street, by moving said track a short distance south, as per blue prints attached, and declaring an emergency." The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS: That the petition of H. C. Fristoe to install an air tire automobile filling station at his place of business at the corner of Sixth and Colorado Streets in this city, be and the same is hereby granted, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the petition of the said H. C. Fristoe to do vulcanizing work at said place of business at the corner of Sixth Street and Colorado Street in connection with the repairing of automobile tires be and the same is also hereby granted, and BE IT RESOLVED FURTHER: That the permits herein granted are subject to modification or revocation whenever in the judgment of the City Council such modification or revocation shall be deemed just, reasonable and necessary to enforce the proper fire or police regulations of this city, either or both. The resolution was adopted by a vote of 5 yeas, no nays. APPROVED, Feb. 6, 1919: A. P. Wooldridge, Mayor. The reports for January of the Sealer of Weights and Measures, the Public Weigher, and the Assessor and Collector were read and ordered filed. The Council then adjourned.
