159 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, Feb. 27, 1919. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following present: Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes, and Powell, 5; absent none. The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS: That the value of the improvements on Lot No. 9, Block No. 7, City of Austin, Texas, be and the same is hereby fixed at $500.00, that valuation being recommended to the City Council as a proper one by Fred Sterzing, Assessor and Collector of this city, who is perfectly familiar with the value of said property and its comparative value with property adjacent thereto. This property is the property of Mrs. W. B. Brush. The resolution was passed by a vote of 5 yeas, no nays. APPROVED, Feb. 27, 1919: A. P. Wooldridge, Mayor. The following resolution was laid before the Council: RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the permit to install and maintain a gasoline tank and Tank Permit: pump in front of 217-219 East Fifth Street, heretofore granted to W. B. Transfer of Abadie, be and the same is hereby transferred and made to apply to F. O. from W. B. Abadie Swenson, this upon the written application of the said F. O. Swenson, to F. O. Swenson successor to the said W. B. Abadie in the ownership of the said tank and pump. The resolution was passed by a vote of 5 yeas, no nays. APPROVED, Feb. 27, 1919: A. P. Wooldridge, Mayor. The Mayor offered the following resolution: Appropriation RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS: Underground That the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) be and the same Cables is hereby appropriated out of the surplus fund in the Water and Light Department for the purchase and installation of cables to carry the light and power wires in underground conduits established in the business part of this city. The resolution was adopted by a vote of 5 yeas, no nays. APPROVED, Feb. 27, 1919: A. P. Wooldridge, Mayor. A telegram from the United States Secretary of Labor to the Mayor inviting him to attend a conference of Governors and Mayors at the White House, Mar. 3-4, was read to the Council. The Mayor read a number of tax appeals, and next Tuesday afternoon, Mar. 4, was fixed as the time for a hearing on them. Applications for public service car licenses, as follows, were Mrs. W. B. Brush. Assessment laid before the Council and granted by vote of 5 yeas, no nays: Correct. J. C. Cooper, 1410 East Sixth Street, Studebaker, No. 132063; W. M. Bargsley, 210 East Fourth Street, Ford, No. 132838. The Council then adjourned. E. Martin City Clerk
