There was laid before the Council the following resolution: RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the valuation of $900.00 placed by the City Board of Equalization on the improvements located upon Lot 5, Block 3, Outlet 4, Division Z, of this city, the property of Frank Issleib, for the year 1918, be and the same is hereby ordered reduced to $600.00; this for the reason that the Council is convinced, from the attached statement of the said Frank Issleib, a soldier, that $600.00 is an equitable valuation to place upon these improvements. The resolution was passed by a vote of 5 yeas, no nays. APPROVED, Apr. 1, 1919: A. P. Wooldridge, Mayor. The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That in consideration of the facts set out in the attached Austin American Jas appt. granted statement of Kendall B. Cressey, editor of the Austin American, which appear to this Council to be conclusive as to the value of the printing press, linetypes, and type and machinery assessed for taxes by the American Publishing Company, the valuations placed upon this property by the City Board of Equalization are hereby ordered reduced as follows: One printing press, from $8,000.00 to $5,000.00; type and machinery, from $1,250.00 to $1,000.00; five linetypes, from $7,000.00 to $6,000.00. The resolution was adopted by a vote of 5 yeas, no nays. APPROVED, Apr. 1, 1919: A. P. Wooldridge, Mayor. Reports The financial reports of the Street and Sanitary Sewer Departments and the Sewage Disposal Plant for the months of February and March were read and ordered filed. The Council then adjourned.
