245 RECESSED SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, July 30, 1919. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward. Councilman Ward introduced the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: To increase of That the following changes in the Budget for salaries for the Water Salaries for Light and Power Department of the City of Austin, Texas, for the year 1919 Employees of be made , and the following increases be allowed for the remaining five W. L. & P. The above resolution was adopted by a vote of 5 ayes, no nays. The application of Addie Rysinger to operate a service car was granted by a vote of 5 ayes, no nays. The Council then adjourned. Jae. Hammon, City Clerk. REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, July 31, 1919. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward; absent none. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted. Councilman Graham introduced the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That permission be and the same is hereby granted to John L. Martin to construct a catch basin in the alley at the end of Petition of. John L. Martin building No. 212 West Fourth Street, now occupied by Morris & Company, Granted. Packers, said catch basin to be not less than 18" X 18" in diameter, with trap seal not less than 10" and to be covered with an adequate cast iron cover to be of such weight and dimensions as prescribed by the Inspector of Plumbing and approved by the City Engineer, said catch basin so constructed to conform in every detail with the rules and regulations governing plumbing and sewerage, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That this permit is granted with the understanding that said catch basin is to be at all times maintained and kept clean and in good working order as described in Section 14 of the ordinance regulating the use of sanitary sewers and drains, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That this permit is granted and must be accepted as revocable at any time in the pleasure of the City Council. The above resolution was adopted by a vote of 5 ayes, no nays. Councilman Haynes moved that the tax rolls of the City of Austin for the year 1918 and the supplemental rolls for said year be approved. Motion carried by a vote of 5 ayes, no nays. The application of Mrs. A. Woodard to operate a service car was granted by a vote of 5 ayes, no nays. Petition of. The petition of W. H. Pittsford, et al., presented by W. A. W. H. Pittsford Achilles, was read and taken under advisement. et als for increase of Motion was made by Councilman Graham that the City Council Pay. instruct the City Attorney to notify Mr. Ellison to open natural waterway. Motion carried by a vote of 5 ayes, no nays. The Council then recessed.
