328 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, March 09, 1920. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; absent, none. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nays, none. Councilman Haynes moved that the regular order of business be suspended and that a committee be heard. Mr. A. A. Bush and others then appeared before the Council and complained of the sewage disposal plant. Councilman Alford moved that one-half of the fine and costs assessed à fine assessed against M. A. Bergstrom Remitted. against M. A. Bergstrom in the Corporation Court of the City of Austin on the 20th day of February, 1920, for speeding be remitted. Motion carried by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, nays, none. The following monthly reports were read and ordered filed: Officers Monthly Reports. Mrs. R. C. Walker, Pure Food Inspector, Dr. S. A. Woolsey, City Physician, A. S. Anderson, Public Weigher, and Miss Dorsey Spiller, Municipal Nurse. The following certificate, dated March 4th, 1920, presented by Councilman Haynes, was read and action taken thereon and the bonds mentioned therein were burned in the furnace at the City Hall in the presence of the Mayor and the City Council and the certificate was duly signed by each of them: "CERTIFICATE OF DESTRUCTION OF CANCELLED BONDS AND ATTACHED COUPONS This is to certify that the undersigned, all together and in the presence of one another, have this day destroyed, by burning the following numbered and otherwise described bonds, which have heretofore been redeemed and cancelled with all attached coupons, to-wit: THE AUSTIN SEWERAGE COMPANY BONDS OF AUSTIN, TEXAS, dated the first day of November, A. D. 1895, and numbered One (1) to One Hundred and Fifty (150) inclusive, for $1,000.00 each, or a total of $150,000.00. (Signed) W. D. Yett, Mayor, " H. L. Haynes, Councilman, " Jno. S. Ward, Councilman, " O. F. Alford, Councilman, " J. W. Graham, Councilman. Austin, Texas, March 4, 1920." The Council then recessed. SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, March 9, 1920. The Council met with all members present. W. M. Shands [illegible] Service Car Granted. The application of W. M. Shands to operate a service car was granted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nays, none. The Council then adjourned. [illegible] City Clerk.
