REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, March 11, 1920.
The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; absent, none.
The Minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion of Councilman Haynes , the same were adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nays, none.
Councilman Graham moved that R. C. Walker be granted permission to have an unknown body moved from the middle of his plot in Oakwood Cemetery to the southeast or outer edge of same plot. Motion carried by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nays, none.
Coy Middleton service Car. The application of Coy Middleton to operate a service car was granted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nays, none.
Columbian Refg. Co. Filling Stn. The application of the Columbian Refining Company to install a filling station on Lots 10 and 11, Block 3, Outlot 2, Division "A" was granted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nays, none.
Columbian Refg. Co. Warehouse. The application of the Columbian Refining Company to install a warehouse and gasoline tanks on the H&TC Right-of-way south of Block No. 3, Lot 4, Division "A" , was granted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nays, none.
A committee, composed of A. A. Bush, James A. Belger, R. F. Bacon and O. L. Kooch, appeared before the Council and asked permission to use the City's fire apparatus in the San Sam display on the afternoon and night of the 20th and 21st days of April, 1920. Councilman Ward moved that the request be granted, with the understanding that they co-operate with C. L. Woodward, Chief of the Fire Department. Motion carried by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nays, none.
Jim Novy Junk Deal. Lic. The application of Jim Novy for a junk dealer's license at #503 East 8th Street was granted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nays, none.
Mrs A. Ganss Cor. Roof. The application of Mrs. A. Ganss to erect a corrugated roof from porch to sidewalk at #101 East 3rd Street, same to be erected under the supervision of the City Engineer and the Fire Marshal, was granted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nays, none.
Phonograph Shop Banners. The application of the Phonograph Shop at #709 Congress Avenue to erect two banners across the sidewalk until the night of the 17th of March, 1920, was read and upon motion of Councilman Haynes that the application be granted, with the understanding that same should be erected in conformity to the city ordinance governing the erection of signs across sidewalks, same was granted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nays, none.

The following reports for February were read and ordered filed: C. L. Woodward, Chief of the Fire Department; Fred Sterzing, Assessor and Collector; Jas. H. Maxwell, Sealer of Weights and Measures; J. D. Platt, City Marshal; J. J. Bailey, Probation Officer. The Council then recessed.
Application of Greyberg Oil Co to Erect Tanks ~ Declined ~
AFTERNOON SESSION
The following report of the City Engineer was read and ordered filed: "Austin, Texas, March 11, 1920. To the Hon. Mayor and City Council, City of Austin, Texas. Gentlemen: Having been advised that the Greyberg Oil Company proposes to erect two storage tanks near the intersection of Fifth and Comal Streets, we made an inspection of the tanks said Company proposes to erect and find in our opinion said tanks are unsafe for the purpose for which they are to be used , and respectfully recommend that the City Council decline the application for the use of these tanks for the purpose of storing kerosene, gasoline, or such inflammable materials. Yours very truly, (Sgd) C. E. Leonard, City Engineer, (Sgd) C. L. Woodward, Chief of Fire Department." The Council then adjourned.
