359 of his place at 301 East 6th Street, same to be erected under the supervision of the Chief of the Fire Department and City Engineer, was granted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, and Ward, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Haynes absent. The application of Ben Sites to erect a corrugated iron shed in the rear of 402 East 6th Street was granted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, and Ward, 4; nayes, none, absent, Councilman Haynes. The Council then adjourned. [illegible] City Clerk. REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, July 15, 1920. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, and Ward, 4; absent, Councilman Haynes. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham and Ward, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Haynes absent. The application of J. O. Andrewartha to erect an electric sign at No. 707 Congress Avenue was granted, with the understanding that same should be erected under the supervision of the City Electrician and City Engineer, by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, and Ward, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Haynes absent. The monthly report of Miss Nellie M. Hall, Secretary of the United Charities Association, was read and ordered filed. Councilman Alford introduced the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That C. L. Woodward, Chief of the Fire Department, be granted a two weeks leave of absence for the purpose of attending the National Fire Chiefs Association as a representative of the City of Austin and that a sum sufficient to defray the actual expenses of said trip be appropriated out of the General Contingent Fund. The above resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, and Ward, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Haynes absent. The Council then recessed.
