370 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, September 16, 1920. The Council was called to order by the Mayor Pro Tem, H. L. Haynes. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Pro Tem Haynes, Councilmen Alford, Graham and Ward, 4; absent, Mayor Yett. The Communication of Howard Walker was read and upon motion of Councilman Alford was referred to Councilman Ward by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Pro Tem Haynes, Councilmen Alford, Graham and Ward, 4; absent, Mayor Yett. Resignation of Jack Mussett The resignation of Jack Mussett as fireman in the Fire Department Resignation of A. J. Hamilton was accepted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Pro Tem Haynes, CouncilS. J. Bryant Resignation men Alford, Graham and Ward, 4 ; nayes, none. Resignation of Davis Cottle The resignation of A. J. Hamilton as fireman in the Fire Department was accepted by the following vote: Mayor Pro Tem Haynes, Councilmen Alford, Graham and Ward, 4; nayes, none. The resignation of S. J. Bryant as fireman in the Fire Department was accepted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Pro Tem Haynes, Councilmen Alford, Graham and Ward, 4; nayes, none. Matlock as fireman to succeed Davis Cottle, resigned. Councilman Graham moved that he be authorized to employ Harry Smith as truck driver and expert mechanic.
