The Mayor laid before the City Council the following report from the City Clerk: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS. Gentlemen: I beg to report that I have carefully canvassed the returns of the special election held in the City of Austin, Texas, on December 14, 1920, to obtain the consent of the qualified voters of the City of Austin, Texas, who pay taxes on property within the limits of said city, to the issuance of bonds by the City for the purposes hereinafter set out, and I hereby certify the total results thereof as follows: PROPOSITION NO. 1: The issuance of bonds in the sum of $55,000.00, for the purpose of EXTENDING THE SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM OF THE CITY. FOR the Proposition - 612 AGAINST the Proposition - 332 PROPOSITION NO. 2: The issuance of bonds in the sum of $20,000.00, for the purpose of CONSTRUCTING EXTENSION AND BETTERMENTS OF THE SEWAGE DISPOSAL PLANT. FOR the Proposition - 577 AGAINST the Proposition - 375 PROPOSITION NO. 3: The issuance of bonds in the sum of $30,000.00, for the purpose of the CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPMENT OF AN ADDITION TO THE CITY HOSPITAL. FOR the Proposition - 645 AGAINST the Proposition - 295 PROPOSITION NO. 4: The issuance of bonds in the sum of $50,000.00, for the purpose of the PERMANENT IMPROVEMENT OF THE STREETS. FOR the Proposition - 606 AGAINST the Proposition - 339 PROPOSITION NO. 5: The issuance of bonds in the sum of $25,000.00, for the purpose of the ERECTION OF BRIDGES. FOR the Proposition - 517 AGAINST the Proposition 362 PROPOSITION NO. 6: The issuance of bonds in the sum of $25,000.00, for the purpose of CONSTRUCTING A GARBAGE INCINERATOR. FOR the Proposition - 565 AGAINST the Proposition 387 PROPOSITION NO. 7: The issuance of bonds in the sum of $20,000.00, for the purpose OF THE CONSTRUCTING OF A MUNICIPAL PUBLIC SWIMMING POOL. FOR the Proposition - 478 AGAINST the Proposition 469 (Sgd) Joe Hornsby, City Clerk of the City of Austin, Texas. The above report of the City Clerk showing his canvass of the result of the Election mentioned therein, was examined and verified by the City Council by checking same with the official returns, and said report having been found in all things correct, was approved, adopted and ordered filed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham and Haynes; Nays, None; Councilman Ward absent.
