130 Street as a target range, Upon motion of Councilman Haynes, a permit was granted, subject to revocation, by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nayes, none. Judge D. J. Pickle appeared before the Council in regard to certain property on East 14th Street, Councilman Haynes moved that the matter be referred to the City Attorney for his report back to the City Counoil as soon as practicable. Motion carried by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nayes, none, A committee from the South Side Improvement Club, composed of J. H. W. Williams, Ed Makellar, Guy Cannon, Mrs. Austin Sullivan and Mrs. Fred Cloud, appeared before the Council asking that the City purchase a half-block of ground on south Congress Avenue for park purposes. The Council requested the committee to secure an option on said piece of ground, with a view to taking the matter up at some future date. Councilman Haynes moved that the communication of Frank 8. Taylor be referred to Councilman Ward and City Attorney, J. B. Rector, with instructions to make proper answer to same. Motion carried by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nayes, none. The application of Billy Ebner to place two electric signs across the sidewalk, one for the Graham Drug Company and the other at #614 Congress Avenue, was granted, with the understanding that same be erected under the supervision of the City Electrician, by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nayes, none. The application of Billy Ebner for permission to place a cloth banner across the street at 7th Street and Congress Avenue, advertising the Victor Artists, was declined for the reason that it is in violation of the City Ordinance, by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nayes, none, The Council then recessed, SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, February 11,1921. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham Haynes and Ward, 5; absent, none, The application of A. L. Givens to operate as service cars, Marman Sedan #44965, Studebaker #2790, Studebaker #8947, and Dodge #526861, was granted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nayes, none, The Council then adjourned.
