434 : REGULAR MERTING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, March 04, 1921, The Council was called to order by the Mayor, Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; absent, none. Councilman Alford nominated Dr. C. W. Goddard to act as Special Deputy City Health Officer, to serve without pay. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Graham, Haynes and Ward, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Alford present but not voting. Councilman Haynes nominated S. M. Ekdahl as special deputy city sanitary inspector, to serve without pay. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham and Ward, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Haynes present but not voting. The proposition of A. L. Fulton to purchase the west one-half of a lot near the Tenth Ward Fire Hall was referred to the Chief of the Fire Department, C. L. Woodward, to investigate and report back to the Council, by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nayes, none. W. D. Hart appeared before the Council and presented a claim of D. A. Gregg for property damages. Mr. Hart was instructed to take up the matter with the City Attorney, Mr. J. Bouldin Rector. The proposition of R. Louis Routt to purchase Lots Nos. 11 and 12 in Black No. 3, on East 15th Street in this city, upon motion of Councilman Graham, was referred to Councilman Ward by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nayes, none. The reports of the Austin Gas Light Company for the year 1920 was read and ordered filed. The monthly reports of Dr. C. H. Brownlee, City Health Officer, C. L. Woodward, Chief of the Fire Department, Dr. A. A. Biebel, Meat and Dairy Inspector, Ers. R. C. Walker, Pure Food Inspector, and A. S. Anderson, Public Weigher, were read and ordered filed. The Council then recessed, SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, March 7th, 1921. The Council was called to order by the Mayor, Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford and Haynes; 3; absent, Councilmen Graham and Ward, Councilman liaynes introduced the following resolution: HE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That whereas, Mrs. C. A. Cabaniss has made application for permit to remodel a frame bedroom at her home at #102 East Second Street, and the same having been approved by C. L. Woodward, Chief of the Fire Department, Therefore, 1 ::
