REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Tevee, April 14, 1921, The Council was called to order by the Mayor Roll cell showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Grahan, Haynes and Ward, 5; sbsent, none, The Minutes of the last meeting were read and uron motion of Councilman Haynes, were adopted by the following vote: Ayce, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alfor Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nayes, none. Councilman Haynes moved that the regular order of business be suspended and that a committee be heard. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nayes, none A committee composed of J. Gregg Hill and others appeared before the Council and presented a petition asking for the passage of a city ordinance to provide for a censor for moving picture and vaudeville shows and billboard features in Austin, Texas. Action upon same was deferred. A petition signed by Mrs. M. B. Moreland and others was then read asking that an amendment to the ordinance regulating the conduct and dress of bathers at public bathing resorts be amended. This petition was also taken under advisement and action upon same was deferred. The petition of C. W. Barker, asking that certain streets near Wooldridge Park be closed during the coronation exercises of the San Sam Queen at Wooldridge Park. The petition was granted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Alford , Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nayes, none. The petition of the Western Union Telegraph Company, asking permission to replace certain aerial cable and open wire lines along Third Street, Colorado Street and Seventh Street was read, and upon motion of Councilmen Haynes, same was referred to Councilman Graham with full power to act in the premises. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett. Councilmen Alford, Graham, Haynes and Ward, 5; nayes none. Upon the recommendation of J. D. Copeland, Chief of Police, Councilman Alford nominated Los Evans to be special policeman of the City of Austin. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Graham, Haynes and Ward, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Alford present but not voting. Upon the recommendation of J. D. Copeland, Councilman Alford nominated L. B. Burton to be special policeman to act as watolunan at the I&GN Railway Company's yards. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Graham, Haynes and Ward, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Alford present but not voting. The following monthly reports of Jas.
