The Minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion of Councilman Haynes were adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none, Councilman Haynes introduced the following resolution: Whereas, it has been shown to the satisfaction of the City Council that Lot 7, Block 28 in Swishers Addition to the City of Austin has been used exclusively for religious purposes since the year 1916, and it is the opinion of the City Attorney that the facts found justify the exemption of this property from city taxes; therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the assessments of the City Assessor and Collector of taxes against Lot 7, Block 28 in Swishers Addition to the City of Austin for the years 1917, 1918, 1919 and 1920 be cancelled, and the assessor and collector of taxes is hereby instructed to make such correction on his books, and to place said property on the exemption list.
