The Council then adjourned. REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: 465 Austin, Texas, June 2, 1921, The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; absent, none. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion of Councilman Haynes were adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none, A committee composed of Woodie Gilbert, J. W. Ezelle, W. E. Long and A. P. Watson appeared before the Council and asked the privilege of using Barton and Pease Parks as a free camping ground for tourists. The matter was taken under advisement by the City Council, Councilman Copeland nominated Mrs. R. C. Roberdeau as a member of the Advisory Board of the City Hospital. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Copeland not voting. Councilman Eyres nominated A. J. Anderson, 2108 Sabine Street, as City Electrician. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Eyres not voting. The monthly reports of Dr. A. A. E. Leonard, City Engineer, in the matter of eliminating odors at the Sewage Disposal Plant was read and ordered filed, The report of Jas. A. Warren, Bookkeeper and Cashier of the Street and Sewer Department, was read and ordered filed, Councilman Haynes introduced the following resolution: Whereas, Mrs. M. W. Cooney makes statement that in rendering her personal property for taxes of 1920 at the sum of $5,035.00, she made an error of $550.00 in the actual value of said property and prays that her assessment be corrected, to the total sum of $4,485.00, Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the Assessor and Collector be and he is hereby authorized to correct said erroneous assessment and take credit for the amount of $550.00 change in the valuation. The above resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes andsearight; 5 - nayes, none. The communication of Carl Hartman was read and referred to Councilman Seuright by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. Councilman Copeland nominated Joe Amstead, Jr., to be motorcycle policeman to take the position made vacant by the resignation of Peter Brown. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Hayor Yett, Councilmen Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Copeland not voting. Upon the recommendation of Sam D. Griffin, Chief of Police, Councilman Copeland nominated S. L. Brown to be special policeman on East Avenue, Fred Everett, special policeman at West Austin Fire Hall, Andrew Gonzales special policeman at the Church at 20th and Salina Streets, and ٤٠٠
