470 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: AUSTIN.. TEXAS. June 23, 1921. i The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; absent, none. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion of Councilman Copeland were adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Coun- cilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. • The application of Fred Hart to install a gasoline pump on West Fifth Street upon motion of Councilman Eyres, was referred to the City Engineer, City Attorney, City Electrician and Chief of the Fire Department for their report back to the Council. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. Lyman J. Bailey appeared before the Council and asked that the Y. M. C. A. Hall, at the corner of Waller and Willow Streets ad the Boy Scouts Hall at #1000₫ Congress Avenue be placed on the list for free sewerage, Councilman Searight moved that the application be granted. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The Council then recessed. 1 AFTERNOON SESSION Councilman Eyres nominated E. C. Munro as Cashier of the Water and Light Department, effective July 1st, 1921. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Eyres not voting. Councilman Eyres nominated H. E. Wilkinson as Storekeeper of the Water, Light and Power Department. Nominution was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Eyres not voting A communication from Houghton Brownlee was read, and upon motion of Councilman Eyres, was referred to Councilman Haynes and City Attorney Rector by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Seartht, 5; nayes, none. , A comununication from 0. B. Matthews, County Judge, was read and upon motion of Councilman Eyres, same was referred to City Attorney Rector and Councilman Haynes for their report back to the Council, by the following vote: Ayee, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; пауев, none.
