i : 484 The Council then adjourned. REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, August 09, 1921, The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Bearight, 5; absent, none. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion of Councilman Copeland were adopted by the following vote: Луев, Hayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. George Herder, John sutherland and Bob Briscce of Bay City appeared before the Council and asked that the city release sufficient waters impounded by the Colorado River Dam for the benefit of the rice growers of Matagorda County, and after careful consideration of the above request, upon motion of Councilman Eyres, the same was declined by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. Councilman Haynes nominated D. B. Gracy as City Treasurer of the City of Austin: Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Haynes present but not voting. The reports of A. S. Anderson, Public Weigher, Robert Rockwood, City Fire Marshal, Mrs. R. C. Walker, Pure Food Inspector, and Dr. A. A. Biebel, Meat and Dairy Inspector, were read and ordered filed. The Council then recessed, SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, August 9. 1921. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll Orll showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes; 4, Councilman Searight absent. Councilman Copeland moved that in the matter of investigation of certain police officials that action by the Council upon same be deferred until after the next term of County Court. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes; 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The Council then recessed.
