538 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, October 25, 1921, The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; absent, none. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion of Councilman Eyres were adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none, Councilman Haynes moved that Dr. C. H. Brownlee, City Health Officer, be granted a leave of absence for a period of thirty days, beginning November 12th, 1921. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Bearight, 5; nayes, none. The petition of C. D. Kinney and others was read and upon motion of Councilman Haynes was referred to Councilman Searight by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The petition of 8. A. Philquist and others, asking that J. K. Rhambo be retained as night watchman for Upper East Avenue was read and upon motion of Councilman Copeland was referred to Councilman Eyres by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The monthly reports of Jas. H. Maxwell, Sealer of Weights and Measures, Dr. A. A. Biebel, Meat and Dairy Inspector, Miss Nellie M. Hall, Secretary of the United Charities Association, and the Public Health Nursing Association were read and ordered filed, Councilman Copeland moved that the City Clerk be authorized to transfer all the returne of the general election held on April 4th, 1921, to one box and that same be securely locked and sealed, in order that the ballot boxes may be used in the special election to be held in the City of Austin on October 27, 1921. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none.
