1 The monthly reports of Sam D. Griffin, Chief of Police, C. L. Woodward Fire Chief, and Dr. A. A. Biebel, Heat and Dairy Inspector, were read and ordered filed, The Council then adjourned, Ajourned, at rely REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, November 17, 1921. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres and Haynes, 4; absent, Councilman Searight. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion of Councilman Haynes were adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, and Haynes, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The IIth Annual Report of the United Charities Association was read by the Secretary, Miss Nellie M. Hall, and same was then ordered filed. Councilman Searight appeared at 10:30 A. M. A Summary Report of Warrants Issued by the City of Austin for the month of October, by Hilton Morris, City Auditor, was read and ordered filed. The Monthly reports of Jas, H. Maxwell, Sealer of Weights and Measures, The Public Health Nursing Association, and C. L. Woodward, Chief of the Fire Department, were read and ordered filed. Councilman Copeland nominated C. J. Crider as extra hoseman during the vacation period. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Copeland not voting. The application of Robert Laidlow to sell novelties on the streets during the Christmas holidays was referred to Councilman Copeland by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Bearight, 5; nayes, none.
