590 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, December 31, 1921, The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland and Haynes, 3; absent, Councilmen Eyres and Searight. The bids of Ulit's Market and the Parlor Market for supplying meat to the City Hospital from January 1st to July 1st, 1922, were read, and upon motion of Councilman Copeland the bid of Ulit's Market was accepted as the lowest and best bid, by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland and Haynes, 3; nayes, none, Councilmen Eyres and Searight absent. : Upon the recommendation of Councilman Copeland, Councilman Haynes moved and butter that the bid of Bryant Creamery for supplying sweet and butter milk' to the City Hospital for the six months beginning January 1st, 1922, be accepted as the lowest and best bid. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland and Haynes, 3; nayes, none, Councilmen Eyres and Searight absent. Upon the recommendation of Councilman Copeland, Councilman Haynes moved that the bid of Ulites Grocery Store be accepted as the lowest and best bid for groceries to be furnished the City Hospital for the six months beginning January 1st, 1922, Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Kayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland and Haynes, 3; nayes, none, Councilmen Eyres and Searight absent. Upon the recommendation of Councilman Copeland, Councilman Haynes move that the bid of Graham Drug Company to furnish medical supplies to the City Hospital for the six months beginning January 1st, 1922, be accepted as the lowest and best bid. City Fire Marshal, for their report back to the Council, by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5: nayes, none. Upon the recommendation of Sam D. Griffin, Chief of Police, Councilman Copeland nominated J. G. Sudberry as Special Policeman. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Eyres, Haynes and Seeright, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Copeland not voting. The annual report of Fred Sterzing, Assessor and Collector, for the year 1921 was read and ordered filed. The monthly reports of Fred Sterzing, Assessor and Collector, Sam D. Griffin, Chief of Police, Robert Rockwood, Fire Marshal, A. S. Anderson Public Weigher, Miss Rosa Lengefeld, Superintendent of Nurses at City Hospital, Mrs. R. C. Walker, Fure Food Inspector, and M. R. Miller, Mechanic for the Fire Department, were read and ordered filed. The communication of Miss Sigrid Johnson in regard to the installation of a telephone at her residence was read and referred to the City Attorney, by the following vote: Ayen, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none.
